I am kind of surprised in a positive way. West Broadway have more than 10 eye store, why this store so different? I was planning to give a try for my last minute act, because my classmates gave me a thumb up gesture. Nirosha put me through and not give me any non-verbal rejection. I was not worried if I can’t. 1: warm welcome me even I could not make a proper appointment.
2: home like place, you can see the 1956 poster and vintage machine run well in this place.

This is the place to go to for your eyewear needs. The owners were really helpful and super friendly. I didn't feel pressured to buy even though I got a pair. A week later I bent my glass (my fault) and they took the time to help fix them for me (was a near loss) and no charge! I am definitely coming back in the future. Thanks again!

Where do I begin?! Every interaction I had with every single staff member was an absolute joy. I was treated with the utmost respect (coming from a trans*, two-spirit, and non-binary identifying individual). Fred- what a guy! Padma- such a lovely human. And Nirosha- an incredible willingness to listen. I couldn't have chosen a better spot to be supported with my journey to find new spectacles. Thank you all so SO much! And oh! They were so great with facilitating between speaking with ministry staff to help navigate finding frames and/or lenses for folx who access income assistance.

Good service, the glasses arrived like 2 days later. There wasn't a huge selection when I went but managed to find a great pair of glasses. The workers there were really nice and attentive. Would recommend trying them out

Very professional, friendly and helpful staff! Clean and well-maintained. The doctor was great but the people in the shop were super helpful and incredibly nice. The eye exam was quick but the staff stayed past their closing time to make sure we were happy with our purchase and to ensure all expenses for the eye exam and lens were covered under our plan so we wouldn't have to pay out of pocket. Highly recommend this clinic.

Excellent customer service. I went there to get a new prescription for my contact lenses and get new frames for my eye glasses. Nirosha is a very nice lady and pleasant to talk with. Thanks a lot for the great experience! I'll make sure to come back!

As a Personal Stylist, I have been taking my Vancouver clients to Tru Valu for many years. They have fabulous designer frames with state of the art lenses at great prices. All of the staff are well trained in fitting frames and getting the exact lenses for the client. They go above and beyond and do whatever it takes to ensure my clients are completely satisfied.

Good product selection and in-store optometrist make for a convenient, one-stop shop for visual needs. The customer service puts them way out in front -- simply an excellent experience.

We moved back home from Europe in 2011. We both needed to have our various eyeglasses updated. After appointments with our ophthalmologists we made appointments with the optometrist at Tru-Valu for our lens prescriptions. We then were helped to chose our frames and advised on which types of lenses would be best for us. I chose transitionnels and progressives. I usually get my frames and a complete second pair of glasses (sunglasses) for free.

I’m surprised this place hasn’t been flagged for its fake 5-star reviews. The staff are outright hostile if not rude and dismissive. Customers are treated worse here than anywhere else I’ve seen in Vancouver - imagine being screamed at and threatened by the owner out of nowhere, for seemingly nothing. Even if you can get past those things, the selection of frames aren’t worth their “lowered” price. What a bizarre operation.

I broke my glasses in the morning and was able to get a nice set of fresh ones in the same day. Had a positive experience here and recommend it, if you're in an emergency or not!

Fred the grey-haired balding guy is always cracking jokes about how often I break my glasses, while Nirosha is all-around just a very pleasant and caring lady.

They are always willing to repair my glasses quickly and efficiently, and if my lenses are ever broken beyond relief, then they will offer me some suggestions from the vast variety of eyeglasses available.

My number one place to get glasses... I never go anywhere else!

The best part about the service here is that I never felt like I was up sold on anything. I simply got the exams I needed and found the contact lens that fit best without feeling pressure to purchase more expensive lens. I used to go here and loved it when it was another optician, and I really thought I found my doctor for life, but he left and when I booked an appointment, I wasn't notified that I would be seeing another doctor. Sensational service. Helpful right from the very start. Did not mind me checking prices and trying on glasses. Not like a competitor close by. Took only 7 days for my glasses to come in. Don't mess around with the others in this location

Very poor quality frames. They are such a rip off. I had a groupon coupon which should have saved me money but I ended up paying the price you would normally pay for a high quality pair of eye glasses. I liked the look of the new pair of eye glasses that I picked but after 6 months of usage, a screw came of already. Brought them back to them to repair and after a few months, the same screw came off again.

I will never go back to this place ever again even for a cheaper pair of glasses. It is not worth at all.

Poor selection and very poor quality frames and lenses.
I usually shop next door at On Time Optical (higher quality in many regards and I have never had issues with them) but I was short on money and couldn't afford much this year. I mistakenly bought a pair here and the nose pads fell off when i was removing my sweater. They let me change the frames to another pair but when they did this, the lenses did not fit properly in the new frames. There were gaps between the frames and the lens which they told me was "normal" and it was supposed to be like this. It was a total waste

Just got my second pair of glasses from Tru-Valu. The first pair, which I bought over two years ago, received a number of compliments from strangers who liked my frames. I like my second pair even better. As for the service--well, it's as good as it gets. What else can I say about a place that got my glasses and clip-on shades ready in four business days, because I'm travelling halfway around the world?

I haven't had an eye exam through this company. I go to an eye doctor for that. But as far as getting well-priced, durable frames that flatter, I'm a loyal customer of this

When I went to redeem my Groupon during my lunch hour (eye exam), I wanted to get my RX and come back to pick out my glasses. They advised me AFTER my exam that I needed to pick out my glasses same day, did I forget to mention that all the frames have NO prices on their no name brand frames. How it works is when you pick your frame out to the sales clerk they verbally advise you of that frame's price. if I wanted to walk out withmy RX I needed to pay an additional $85 for the exam and when I returned to buy my glasses the $85 would be credited towards my new glasses. I felt completed scammed

Tru-Valu is gonna save you SO much that they even skimped on vowels.

I don't know, I have a hard time giving this place *any* stars. I mean, it's not that good. The selection: not that good. The service: not that good. The eye exam: nope, not... not really that good.

Loved this place. Thought the Dr. was fabulous, very thorough and educated on the latest techniques and tools. And I found a great pair of glasses. Best of all I was in and out in under and hour.

Great prices, good selection, and helpful staff. Getting eye exams here is awkward and disappointing, however, and not recommended.
