Services
The eye examination consists of a comprehensive assessment of your visual system including refractive error (nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, age related reading difficulty), binocular function (muscle weaknesses, lazy eye), and health of the eye's internal and external structures. Eye drops are routinely used during the exam to aid in the assessment of eye pressure and internal eye health.

Because we frequently survey the marketplace, we strive to offer our patients quality products at competitive prices. The careful selection and proper fitting of eyewear is of utmost importance from both an aesthetic and functional perspective.

It was our first visit here last week. My wife and I had the best experience.
Dr.Herman Cheng was professional and very informative, he took time to make sure we understood everything and I learned a lot to care about my eyes

I am loyal to the optometrist. The staff, however, has deterred me from returning. I understand language was a barrier. It was to the point of rudeness and unacceptable unprofessionalism. I spent a long time during my appointment interacting with the staff (not optometrist) because I had to wait for my pupils to dilate for examination. There was not one word of 'please' or gratitude. Quite in contrast, the receptionist barked at me while she took photos of my optic nerve, and did not place a tissue on the machine where my forehead and chin rested, especially during the pandemic

If I could give Dr. Caroline Kriekenbeek 10 stars, I would. She has treated both my young children. She first saw them when they were 5 and 3 years old. She engages with them in a playful and positive way while administering a battery of vision tests. My son is begging for me to book another appointment with her. She's professional, thorough, explains results in a complete and accessible way and answers questions thoughtfully. Dr. Kriekenbeek is a gem and I cannot recommend her highly enough, particularly if you have young children.

I came across Dunbar Eyecare Optometry while going down the list of Vision Network, a group of facilities under the university student health plan. I had symptoms in my eyes that bothered me. I was able to get an appointment on the same day I made the phone call. My experience there was beyond my expectation.
Both Dr.K and the staffs (Lisa who helped me that day) are really friendly, professional and resourceful. Lisa listened to me describing my concerns over the phone and suggested an eye examination suited both my need and budget.

I've been going to dunbar eye care since high school and am pleased with the professionalism and service from the optometrists. however, what i'm less please about is the reception staff who have given me incorrect information more than once. as the first person you see when entering any service provider, the importance of friendly, knowledgeable staff should not be negated. a good problem solver would be a great asset.
