We acquired our kitten from the SPCA, wonderful people, awesome experience. We were given a free check up after the first week to check on her spay surgery.
We were given a pamphlet specifically for this establishment.
We called to book an appointment and were told we needed to make a $25 deposit before they would even make the appointment. I asked them what the deposit was for, and they said it would be returned on our first billed visit.
I asked the receptionist, what if we want to go with a different Vet later?
I was advised to go elsewhere then.
$25 for a free check up, is, is? Uhh? underhanded

⚠️I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!⚠️
So I brought my bunny in to be fixed. The vet opened her up and discovered the bunny didn’t have a uterus. Then charges me $515 and sends me home saying not to let her around unfixed male bunnies. 🤯. Seriously! She didn’t have to fix her but still charged me so much. I can understand charging a bit but $515. She said cause it took her twice as long to look for the uterus then to actually fix her. I call Bs.

Great, caring staff. If you have an exotic pet (in our case, ferrets), she is not only the only one in town to have the knowledge, she's the best I've had in 40 years of rescuing.

I understand that people have bad days, but I feel as though that's my only experience with this woman. I was charged over $700 yesterday for the poorest quality and professionalism I have experienced here. My dog was injured and I contacted the emergency line for advice on what to do, and she recommended stitches in the morning. I completely understand the cost of the medications, the cone, the bandage, and the time doing the procedure - keep in mind it was documented as only ten minutes. I was told it would be around four to five hours before he could be picked up and that I had to leave the

The vet is kind and caring overall. But in the last year of my dog's life I felt somewhat disappointed in the care provided. We brought our elderly dog in because she was collapsing and with only a very cursory exam the vet produced an estimate of over $600 for tests she wanted to run, with no real explanation. We wanted to know what she thought it was, whether there was treatment available for the various things it could be. She just told us that she had spent over $1,000 on tests for her elderly cat, the implication being that if we actually cared, we would simply fork over the money without

My partner and I have been bringing our dogs to Merecroft Vet for many years. Their team consistently provides our dogs with amazing, compassionate service; any time they are unwell, Dr Kwong is able to quickly and accurately diagnose the issue. They are excellent at controlling and minimizing cost as well. From routine checkups to injuries, and everything in-between, we would highly recommend Merecroft Veterinary Clinic to anyone with a pet.

The staff are always wonderful and they genuinely care about you and your animal. Helen is concise and genuine and puts you at ease. Her locums are always amazing as well and they follow up with you regularly to make sure your pet - and yourself - are doing okay. The only veterinarian my family and I have ever been to in Campbell River and we will never change.
Thank you Merecroft Veterinary Clinic for all you do!

Friendly staff, personnel seem very comfortable when going in. The ladies always greet you with a smile, and warm affectionate manner. The vet Dr Kwong is amazing with the animals, and doesnt just treat cats and dogs, she also treats birds, ferrets, rats, horses, reptiles and more. She is friendly and very knowledged. Her staff are like a family, and they treat your loved ones as they should be treated, with love, and affection.

We attended Merecroft Veterinary Clinic last week after our beloved cat was attacked in his own home by an out of control dog from our neighbourhood. The staff there quickly jumped into action and started care on my cat. They were very compassionate and caring. After being there an hour and my cat's condition was slowly deteriorating and after several talks with Dr Kwang it was decided we had to put our cat down.
Thank you Dr Kwang and your staff for your kindness and compassion.
Paula and Clayton Norris.

The best Vet there is. We started as clients 24 years ago with our cat Tia and now feel like part of a family. I trust Dr. Kwong and highly recommend her to everyone.

Both my kitties were fixed here, and I get their flea medicine here and I find it reasonably priced and the staff seems to genuinely care about the animals they see. I brought my mean cat in a while ago for an infected cut above her eye which they took very good care of and it healed nicely. I was prepared to pay for sedation but they managed to treat her without it. Surprising, she is quite vicious lol. Again the price was reasonable and less than I was expecting. They were also very patient with me as i had to call more than once to reschedule because i couldn't catch the cat to bring her in

We took cat here back in March due to seeing some blood in his urine. After spending $300, the vet only confirmed that there was blood in his urine, which we already knew. The vet recommended that we get an x-ray to see if there were rocks & further recommended surgery. We were not provided with any other options at this time we decided against the… xray/surgery because we wanted to see if the problem persisted before opting for something so extreme. They told us that it must be due to stress. We explained that our cat is in an indoor cat. He eats, sleeps & cuddles all day and never

Dr. Kwong and her staff saved the life of my Senegal parrot, Max, after he was bitten in the face by my dog. It was after hours on a Saturday night but they quickly put together antibiotics and pain medications… that enabled him to rest and begin healing. A friend who is an avian vet credited their actions for saving his life. Would not hesitate to recommend Merecroft Clinic to anyone on CR in need of compassionate, quality care.

Clients of mine who purchased a toy Maltipoo took their puppy to Merecroft as it had some recurring diarrhea with blood and had vomited and collapsed, to weak to eat or drink. This was obviously stressful for new puppy owners and they went to the clinic already in a panic. When they called me they were very upset as the veterinarian had told them that their puppy was not going to make it and would likely be dead within 24 hrs. The recommendation was to take the puppy to Canada West as it likely had parvovirus or , but would likely not survive the trip. This diagnosis was made with a visual inspection

This is one of the best clinics I have ever had the privilege of going to. The kindness and compassion of all the staff is felt in every single animal they look after, and not just ones brought in for appointments but like my Sophie who was there for a year. She was loved and cared for until the time came for us to meet. thank you for all that you do!
