Services
Robin graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario in 2006. In 2007, she packed everything she owned, including her dog, Brindie and drove across the country to explore and live in the Comox Valley. It's no surprise to anyone who knows Robin that she became a veterinarian. She takes great pride in her role in your pet's individual health care needs and is dedicated to continuing education.
The value of a complete medical history and annual physical exam is undeniable. Our exam times are 30 minutes with extended appointment times for more complex cases. We make educating our clients a priority. During your pet's annual physical exam, we will discuss current diet, body condition, oral health, joint health and any other concerns you may have.
Choosing a veterinarian is an important decision. We are the Comox Valley's newest small animal hospital, serving residents of Comox, Courtenay and Cumberland. We have 3 exam rooms (including a rehab/comfort room), a surgical suite, digital xray room, in house laboratory, pharmacy, and a large treatment room where small procedures and dentistry are performed.
At RainTree Veterinary Hospital, we realize our client family is made up of devoted pet owner's who are committed to the health and well being of their animal companion. There is a vast amount of information online which can make it difficult and confusing to make sound choices when it comes to providing the best care possible for your pet.
Nutritional needs change throughout the life of your pet and it is very important to ensure a good balance of nutrients. Proper nutrition is the most important way to support healthy growth and immune function, minimize orthopedic disease and minimize risks for unhealthy weight gain. We know that picking a diet for your dog or cat can be very confusing with so many choices and so much conflicting information.

Raintree was recommended by a friend and even though we live in Campbell River, it's worth the drive to Comox. It is always the best experience for us and our Whoodle, Dezi. All the staff and both Vets are lovely. They are kind, caring, professional and so helpful whether I'm calling for information or there in person. Dezi is always a bit nervous at first but quickly put at ease with a little treat and the way she is treated by everyone there. Highly recommended.

Late on a Friday afternoon I noticed my pup was not opening his right eye and it was weeping. I called Raintree and they were fantastic. They asked if I thought he needed to be seen and when I said yes, they said that they would wait for us to get there, knowing full well we are a 30 minute drive away. I am so impressed. And then, they followed up a couple of days later to see how we were doing! Awesome service and I'm so pleased to have my pup looked after by Raintree. Thanks gang!

Dr Robin Rainford is exceptional. She takes the best care of our Ava 🐶 and always has made us feel so comfortable. We’ve been thru major surgeries and a few scary incidents over the years. Robin has always kept our girl healthy and set our minds at ease. Her office is the absolute best. Her staff are incredible and treat us like friends or family even though we have no relationship other than thru the clinic. Our two West Highland Terriers have had Dr Robin as their veterinarian since they were both puppies,almost thirteen years ago. They started with her in Campbell River and when Dr Robin told us she was opening her own practice in Comox we knew we would follow her. I have had dogs and pets for over 40 years and Robin and her staff are the best vet clinic hands down. Robin is so compassionate and knowledgeable. You dont feel like your pet is on an assembly line factory . Robin tales her time and cares about your pet! Robin took the time to figure out my dogs complex issue with patience and love. I recently sought a second opinion for my unwell little dog at Raintree and from the moment I phoned for an appointment to the present I was absolutely impressed with the empathy, care and follow up my dog received. In three days they had a diagnosis for a potentially life threatening disease that my regular vet missed. Both Joan and Robin saw my dog over the course of two days and both are kind and wonderful veterinarians. All the staff I spoke with were amazing as well. All of these ladies love their jobs and it shows in the care and attention that they take in dealing with your pet. I was worried

This is a Vet and team that truly care for your animals! Our pup has been seen by Robin for almost his whole 14 years. She has been through all the ups and downs with us and has given some of the best care, options and true empathy you can ask for. This is a place you want to go with your Dog or other pet. Very bad customer service, Treated us like we were nothing to them and made us feel bad cause we didnt have a few thousand dollars to pay for a treatment. They agreed to do half the treatment if we emptied or banks and wallets and even took our change, We gave absolutely every penny we had to these people and then we had to nurse our dogs back to health on our own. Didnt sleep for 30hours. Then I missed my last payment by 3 weeks and they have told us they will not deal with us anymore as wee dont have enough money. Horrible just made me feel sick to my stomach that I'm to poor to deal with
