Services
We offer the broadest range of services in Waterloo Region. First, we offer full eye exams to assess the health of your eyes and find your prescription. Second, we have an optical boutique that specializes in independent eyewear brands. Third, we provide a contact lens fitting service with a licensed Optician.
Our people are the most important part of Insight Eye Care. It takes a huge team to make it all happen: Optometrists checking your eyes, Opticians reviewing lens technology, Boutique Eyewear Consultants finding the perfect frame, and Medical Office Staff keeping the place humming. We would not be Insight without our amazing people.
Our Optometrists are your eye health experts. Along with your prescription assessment, they are checking your eyes for early warning signs of other health conditions. Our Optometrists are passionate about eye care. For example, our Optometrists give back to the community through global aid efforts and local event sponsorship.
Our eye exams include a full eye health checkup. This means you'll be having your eyes dilated with drops so that the doctor can see into your eyes. However, dilatation is optional. When the doctor looks into your eyes, they will note any health concerns and explain them to you. Additionally, we will take a picture of the back of your eyes (called OCT retinal imaging).
All kids who have an OHIP card are able to have free eye examinations. To add, kids registered in Junior Kindergarten get free prescription glasses through the Ontario Associations of Optometrists' Eye See Eye Learn program. Our optometry office is in the heart of Uptown Waterloo. This makes it a short walk from the Barrel Yards, Seagram Lofts, and Circa1877.

Insight Eye Care is simply amazing. But I won't stop there. My wife and I had the pleasure of consulting with Neil and Emmanuel. They were both very knowledgeable, helpful, and (pun intended) insightful. During covid times shopping here is curated, which is far from anything I have ever experienced, but it was highly enjoyable. I've been coming to Insight for only a couple of years now but they offer excellent customer service, their staff is very welcoming and polite and I've never had a poor experience with them! Their covid restrictions and policies are well organized and managed. I don't have to worry about them being diligent on proper sanitization, social distancing, and other covid practices. I really enjoy coming to Insight and I've never had any problems with them whatsoever from booking my appointments to selecting glasses, etc. They're very organized overall, but I also love that their staff is much more diverse

I have been having escalating problems with my vision and wanted to have a last minute appointment to easy some of my concerns after a consultation with a specialist not associated with Insight. The receptionist who answered the phone was caring, professional and efficient in getting me a quick appointment with an optometrist to help answer some of my questions. Dr. Walsh was so patient and very thorough in answering my questions. I could not have asked for a better care, thank you Dr Walsh.

Insight is an incredible place. They have a wonderful selection of frames, lenses, contacts, etc., and they can handle challenging situations and requirements for eye care. The staff are top-notch - from the optometrists, to the opticians, to the folks who welcome you and book your appointments. Great service, attention to detail, and customer care are the focus here.

I got my eyeglass frames and my prescription sunglasses at Insight Eye Care and I love them both so much. Purchasing my glasses at Insight was a wonderful experience. They have fantastic and unique products and their sales team is fabulous. They took the time to find out what I was looking for and even suggested some things I never would have picked out but fell in love with! It didn’t matter how many questions I had or how many adjustments I wanted, I was never made to feel rushed or like a bother. Superb products and service, I highly recommend them!!!

I called because a nose pad broke on a pair of glasses I bought 6 years ago. The lady on the phone was super nice and said to come in. the lady that helped me was also super nice and not only replaced bother the nose pads but also fixed my sunglasses that I didn't even buy from them♥️♥️. Here's the amazing kicker. they did not charge me for anything. Absolutely amazing and will return and recommend for ever. Thank you

Wow!!! If you want to choose from a variety of unique frames then this is your place! All the staff that I dealt with were positive energy, friendly people who seem to genuinely want to make your experience a good one! I lucked out...Maressa was my consultant and she really has an eye for what looks good and for the first time...I am excited to get my new glasses!!!

Our family required another pair of glasses, so we stopped by and coincidently Nicole helped us choose a pair for my son. He was super impressed that a grown-up wanted to shake his hand. We had purchased two other frames and lenses for myself and my daughter and Nicole was awesome each time.
The frame style looks great, and is bendy, so we are not too worried about my son breaking them. They also come with straps! Looking forward to finalizing the order.
We always recommend coming here and also for eye exams.

Great service from doctors and techs, from the main service desk, and from opticians, too. Their selection of eye glasses is top-rate, and they don't force styles (or cost) on to you. (I only with they were located on King St!)
