Since 1989, successive political parties in Ontario have refused to formally talk to optometrists about how to best deliver eye care in this province. Despite inflation rising almost 80% since then, our fees have barely budged from $39.15 in 1989 to an average of $44.65 today.
This does not come close to covering the costs (rent, staff, utilities, equipment, taxes and supplies) to provide an eye exam, leaving optometrists to pay out of their own pockets to conduct OHIP-funded exams.Worse still, Ontario's legislation makes it illegal for optometrists to accept anything above what OHIP pays, meaning that a patient cannot even pay for an eye exam if they are OHIP-eligible.

Complete eye examinations including prescription assessment and external and internal ocular health checks. Specialty prescription eye wear including swimming goggles, skiing/snowboard/snowmobile goggles, shooting glasses, motorcycling glasses and self-darkening mirror coat sunglasses. All our frames come with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty, except sun frames which carry a 1 year warranty.
Optometrists - Like Dr. Sonya Frank, they perform eye exams, issue prescriptions for glasses & contact lenses as well as some medications, and fit & sell glasses and contact lenses. After completing seven or more years of university education, Optometrists provide the majority of eyecare to the public.
After graduating from the University of Waterloo, Dr. Sonya Frank worked several years as an Optometrist in Stratford and Cambridge before opening the Baden Eyecare Centre. Dr. Frank is committed to providing the best eyecare for all of your needs. She is a firm believer in patients having access to information in order to make informed decisions about their eyecare.

Great place for eye care. Dr Sonya Frank and her staff are second to none. Customer service is exceptional and could easily be a model of how a business should be run. The only place I will go for eye care and glasses in the future. If I could give it 6 out of 5 stars I would. If you don't live in Baden it is worth the drive there. You wont be disappointed. Thanks again.
