My husband and I had our wedding in the mountains in Canmore and had decided to stay at the Malcolm hotel. And we so happy that we did!
Our stay was everything we could have imagined and more! The room we stayed in was an absolute dream, we got the mountain view royal king room and it definitely lived up to its name. The beautiful huge balcony looking on to the pool and mountains was a perfect backdrop for photos while getting ready in the morning. The massive bathroom with rainfall shower & bathtub was perfect for relaxing before and after a long amazing day.
We also had our dinner at the Sterling

Stumbled across this 4-Star Scottish themed hotel and decided to stay the night! The front desk staff were extremely accommodating as my wife and I didn’t have a reservation. It was our 10th year wedding anniversary and they made sure we were looked after! We had no expectations of the hotel prior to pulling into the entrance and I have to admit, the hotel was a wonderful surprise on all fronts - ambiance, dining, amenities and scenery! I think this will be one of those hotels that we’ll escape to on special occasions!

The hotel is beautiful, feels very upscale with bath robes and a nespresso machine in the room, beautiful views from every window. Free underground parking. Very clean. The restaurant in the hotel made some of the best food I’ve ever had and it was fairly priced (50 bucks for amazing breakfast and coffee for 2) My fiancé and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner in the hot tub and he was one of the nicest, down to earth people I’ve met. He even gave us some drinks out of his own cooler. I’ll be coming back to this hotel definitely every time I visit the Rockies. 10/10

We stumbled across this hotel when we were searching for a place to stay in Canmore, it was on the higher end of our budget but based on the photos and reviews, we gave it a shot! Best decision ever. This hotel was stunning, inside and out. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains, coziest/comfiest bed we had ever slept on (yes, including our bed at home!), and an aesthetically pleasing bathroom - perfect for a selfie or two. The rooftop heated pool features incredible views of the mountains and was just the right temperature. This hotel has a great location, it was only a 10 minute walk

The Malcolm, by far, is the most beautiful, well-appointed, designed and customer driven hotel in Canmore. I have stayed many places in the Canmore area, however, my recent stay at Malcolm was ranked #1. When I emailed to book my reservation, Naomi immediately responded back to my email and answered all my questions. When I got on the phone with her to ask more questions, she was delightful, pleasant, professional, courteous and passionate about where she works. She assured me the best room, the best view and suggestions for our stay. When I reached the Malcolm, the view was splendid. The lobby

Our stay at the Malcolm hotel was absolutely fantastic. We spent 2 nights for my Birthday and I could not have asked for a better stay. The receptionist at the front desk were super helpful and made the checking in process easy. Upon entering the room we were given delicious complimentary chocolate. The room was super clean and the hotel has a fun game lounge, fitness center and pool/including hot tub that is easily accessible. I could not have asked for a better place the spend the night!

I wanted to give a big shout out to all the Staff at the Malcolm Hotel! We wanted to go for pictures with Santa this year and we saw The Malcolm had an outdoor option. We were met at the doors with helpful and patient staff who told us where to go. We were also very pleased with the absolutely beautiful back drop they are providing. :) There is no going wrong with mountains, I know, but their Santa and props provided were marvelous and Photography people were all outstanding and patient as well. If you are already thinking of next year already, please put The Malcolm at the top of your list.

We stayed at the Malcom over the Christmas holiday and enjoyed our stay.
Pros:
-Great breakfast from Stirling Grill (but did get kind of old after 5 days :) — breakfast was included in our room package)
-Jacob from the Stirling Grill who delivered room service was beyond friendly! He was the happiest employee at the hotel we encountered during our 5 night stay!
-Very quiet, we didn’t hear other guests.
-Views were out of this world.
-Bartenders at Stirling Lounge were great! Happy hour was a nice perk, too
-Easy access to downtown Canmore
-Heated parking was amazing for -30 days

A fancier hotel than I would usually go to but VERY nice. The outdoor pool and hot tubs have a great view. The "games" room is a great idea and the lounge is great but will be a separate yelp post. The rooms are clean and very nice. Pet friendly and I heard they treat your animals right. Got a spa pack which includes an hour massage (at a studio off site fyi) and 2 breakfasts. Now what I don't like is how small the rooms is for the price. I get somethings are included BUT for the amount / night I am paying I would think the rooms should be a lot bigger. Also love a rain-shower but

What an amazing start to our vacation. Great location. We felt very safe. Within walking distance of downtown. Ate at the Stirling Grill where I had the chicken wings and French onion soup. Soup is hard to describe. I have to say the best I’ve ever had. Hardly any bread. Giant bites of melted cheese. Onions blended into a sweet taste. The wings were really different a mixture of somewhat tangy sauces not too hot but enough to tingle the taste buds.

Lovely, new rooms. Outdoor pool and hot tub open year round. Underground parking very nice in the winter and the elevator takes you right up to your floor. Amazing restaurant sent breakfast up within 15 minutes of ordering it and staff could not be more cheerful or welcoming. We love staying here and feel like our business is valued. I can't recommend this place more highly.

Overall my family and I had a great stay over Christmas at The Malcolm Hotel. Location is excellent and the hotel itself is beautiful and located in a picturesque area of Canmore next to the boardwalk and river.
Loved the Christmas activities like carollers, stories by the fireside and hot chocolate. Shortbread was promised with the fireside stories but unforunately no shortbread or cookies for that matter were to be found and when we did wait around for another 20 minutes to see if they would show, they ended up being gingersnaps and a doughy vanilla cookie so both were disappointing when shortbread

I really enjoyed my stay here. I came for a conference, and stayed two nights. The hotel is beautiful, new and shiny. More importantly, it's location is phenomenal. Every window opens up to a beautiful view of the Rockies, since Canmore is situated at the foot of the mountains. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the bathrooms are modern. The bed was very comfortable.
Service was also a highlight. While the staff is young (many are international visitors), they are friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean, and the food in the restaurant is great.
Now for the negatives - there are only

Absolutely beautiful. It was like an elevated cabin. Stayed here for 3 nights on labour day long weekend. Quiet but convenient area. There's some board games, pool table, foos ball, fire pit, pool and hot tub if there's a rainy day to stay in. I came with a large group of people and it was a perfect size to keep us close with having only 4 floors of rooms.
Very clean rooms, the beds are super comfy, the hotel kindly provided us with some towels as we were going water rafting that day, I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful, newer hotel near Banff (about half an hour away) with amazing views of the Canadian Rockies. We stayed here over the Labor day weekend, the hotel was not busy. Our group had two rooms with mountain views, very spacious rooms with a nespresso coffe machine. We we're also able to use the pool and the jacuzzi, other amenities that's cool but we're not able to use are a pool table and different gameboards and a gym. We didn't get the chance to try their breakfast but had dinner at the Stirling restaurant. Food was great for a hotel restaurant (will do a review for that

Such a beautiful hotel! Nicely decorated, not very busy, friendly staff, comfortable beds (the rooms were nicely decorated and clean as well), beautiful scenery surrounding the area, in a great location, etc, etc. They also have a pool and a hot tub on the second floor and it has a gorgeous view of the mountains. The Stirling restaurant is located on the first floor and they have great breakfast food! Since I stayed here during Labor Day weekend and had a very good experience. If I were to come to Canmore again, I would come back and stay at this hotel.

Nice hotel, but a bit on the pricier side. We were only there a couple of days and while we didn't have any issues, the fellow at the counter as we entered to check in was getting a restaurant credit because it sounds like his room was late to be cleaned. I think it was around 5pm at this point so I was surprised that it wouldn't have been done by then.
The room itself was nice. We were on the second floor facing across the creek and towards the mountains on the other side. Lovely view with no one that would be peering into our room. The in-room coffee is Nespresso, which is fantastic

This is a new hotel and they have some management issues. We stayed there 6 nights and the 1st 2 days our room wasn't cleaned until 5pm. We asked for it to be done by noon and it was corrected the following 2 days but the last day was once again late.
Pros:
The view is amazing
The refrigerator is nice and big
The bed is comfortable
The linens are nice
The concierge is very helpful & loaned us bear spray
Walking distance to shops and restaurants
Cons:
Not enough hooks in the bathroom
Tiny rooms
Few hangers in closet
No language rack
Uncomfortable seating
Shower is too weird & need

Beware the upgrade trap.... I started out at $292USD / 380Canadian:
Properties spend SO MUCH time and money strategizing customer acquisition and so little time and effort on customer retention.
This is obviously not a room "Overlooking The Pool" or with a "Great Mountain View" - however I could upgrade (pay more ; ) if I'd like them "to check in to that."
There are lots of other hotels up here in these beautiful mountains that would probably love to convert a first time customer in to a long term relationship ; (

My wife and I got married on a weekend in Canmore when the weather wasn't great, but we stayed at this hotel and the staff there went above and beyond. They let us use the lobby for our ceremony, offered us an event room even if we wanted one (at a reasonable price too), and even let us bring our dogs in to get wedding pictures despite their no pets rule!! We went to The Stirling for breakfast (the hotel restaurant) and they even comped our meal and sent us up mimosas to our room to celebrate!! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in the mountains!!
