Individual and marriage counselling, grief and depression, stress and career changes, addictions and anxiety, self esteem and assertiveness and more. I help people lead more satisfying lives. Come and feel the comfort and quiet of my office overlooking a hundred year old forest - a sanctuary, nestled in among 13 acres of woods, gardens and ponds - designed to assure privacy, peace and recovery.

Can you relate to these stories? Fighting over money, fading desire, infidelity, grief, anxiety, loneliness or career changes are experience by many. I created my blog to share with you how you can overcome the troubles life brings your way. I have a MSc in Family Studies from Guelph University. I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

As long as each of you is courageous enough to admit that you still want to stay together, confront how each of you contributed to this crisis and be willing to do the hard work of acquiring the skills necessary to rebuild trust and intimacy. A breach of trust depends entirely on what you and your partner agreed to.
I grew up in Nova Scotia. My people are French Acadian and Metis. My 92 year old father was (and still is) the village historian. Our kitchen echoed with his stories and I - a passionate listener - never grew tired of how he made people and history come to life. The spirit of his stories about people remained in my mind and heart all through the years, as did the spirit of this gentle man and wonderful storyteller.
As a registered psychotherapist (private practioner) I provide counselling services on a fee for service basis. 2. As a clinical associate supervised by registered psychologist I can offer counselling services for a fee that might be reimbursed through some extended health plans. Please clarify whether or not your insurance provider will accept claims performed by a clinical assistant under the supervision of a registered psychologist.
There seems to be 4 common factors which account for the successful outcome of any therapy. In one estimate, "technique" accounts for about 15% of therapeutic outcome. The increased sense of hope and positive expectation that comes from taking the step to get therapy, accounts for another 15% of the outcome.
The root of the word "therapy" means healing, counseling, consoling. Some of us have been fortunate enough to experience this healing or consoling as children. I believe we require both throughout our lives. Generally, we choose to see a professional when, for some valid reason, our other sources of support are unavailable, limited, or too overwhelmed themselves.
