A historical lakefront Ontario resort and marina conveniently located on the south shore of Rice Lake. We offer several rental cottages in the Village of Gore's Landing. These Ontario rental cottages are just 15 minutes from Cobourg and Port Hope, only 30 minutes from Peterborough, and only 90 minutes east of Toronto.
There are many amenities nearby. We offer an affordable cottage rental destination for a family vacations, fisherman's getaways or enjoyment of the abundant wildlife. LAKESIDE: 1 bedroom with a double bed and a 3 piece bathroom, sleeps 2 people. Has a single sofa pull out bed that can accommodate 1 additional person at the rate of $30/person per day or $150/person per week. LAKESIDE: 2 bedroom with double bed and double/single bunk bed and a 3 piece bathroom, sleeps 4 people.
We have 14 foot fishing boats and 20 foot pontoon boats for rent to cottage and daily guests. Our 14 foot boats are rated for 3 or 4 people, but 4 people in a 14 foot boat is cramped. The pontoon boats are rated for 8 and 10 people. Please note that in addition to the maximum number of people allowed, the Coast Guard also has weight limits for the boats and they must be adhered to.
Our hours of operation is 8:00am to 8:00pm. During the week, we are flexible and boats can be rented anytime from 4 hours to 12 hours. Please contact us to obtain rental rates. This is available only to our Cottage guests. If you are staying in our facilities, you are welcome to use the boat anytime you like during daylight hours.
You will definitely run out of time before you run out of things to do. There is an endless amount of tourist attractions near Plank Road Cottages and Marina including, trails, golfing, art galleries, museums, tree trekking/ziplining, hiking, cycling trails, shopping & boat lift locks. Just a short 20 minute drive you can visit the five aerial courses located in the beautiful Ganaraska Forest.

Yes the cottages are dates but it's super clean and spacious, the prices are amazing. I'm not sure what people expect for this price, a 5 star hotel? The management is friendly and always always available. Most of the people that come there are long time clients.
I'm not sure why people had a parking issue, there's plenty of parking.

Management is by far the kindest & most understanding people I’ve come across. Extremely helpful. Angus & Carla are friendly people that will bring good vibes into your life if you have the pleasure of getting to know them.
I rented a 8 person Pontoon for the 8-4 window , I unfortunately broke 3/3 propellers - completely on accident & had to make a dreaded call for assistance. Angus came within minutes of me calling and didn’t give me or any of my passengers a hard time. As well with Carla when I had to pay for damages.
Still very encouraged and excited to go back to this great establishment

We rented the basic fishing boat for the evening (4-8pm) for $80 total. It was a great and affordable way to get out onto the lake to fish or just enjoy being out on the water. The hosts were very friendly and gave me a quick refresher before heading out. The boat was perfect for 2 people, maybe bring some seat cushions with you to save yourself getting a sore butt!

Plank Road Cottages is an amazing place and our family enjoys every visit. Carla and Angus are great hosts and treats every guess like family. Their Cottages are nice and they come with everything you need, just need to bring sheets and towels, but I do that for everywhere we go anyway. Love that they have boats to rent as well, so for fishing lovers it is a great touch. My boys have a great time always when we are there and they love Carla and Angus and for my one son he has a hard time with people and gets along great with them. We will be continuing to make Planks Road Cottages our place away

The location is very beautiful. If you want a small get away with your family, this is the place to do it. The staff is extremely nice and generous people. I had an amazing experience and made fun memories here. If you’re also looking for a place to just chill and have fun with your friends i definitely recommend this. the cottages are very cute and have a very nice view of the lake. 10/10 would definitely go again.
