Pinecrest is a well established resort on the south shore of beautiful Rice Lake. It covers 7 1/2 acres of woods and trails with 500 feet of waterfront. Situated in Gores Landing, just minutes from Cobourg, Peterborough and Port Hope and 90 minutes from downtown Toronto, the resort is in a great touring area that offers something for everyone.
Our cottages on Rice Lake are the perfect Rice Lake destination for all of your family. Whether you're here for the the fishing or just to relax by the lake, we have a vacation package for you.
Amenities: Include decks and picnic tables, hot and cold running spring water (government tested), refrigerator, full stove with oven, microwave, dishes, pots and pans, silverware, toaster, kettle and coffee maker, three piece bathrooms, thermostatically controlled heating and ceiling fans.Visitors: All visitors must be approved by management before arrival to avoid overcrowding and must register at the office.

Our family fishing resort is easy to find, whether you are coming from the east or west. Access is from highway 401 near Cobourg Ontario. American visitiors can easily reach hwy. 401 at any major border crossing. We are about 90 minutes from Toronto or Kingston which probably makes us one of the easiest fishing resorts in Ontario to get to!
Here are just a few photos taken in and around our family fishing resort. We keep the camera handy and we love to take photographs of our guest's smiles as they pet our friendly animals or after they've been out on Rice Lake doing some great Ontario fishing. Check out the big smiles in some of these pictures as they hold up a big Walleye or Bass, or set out to do a little Muskie fishing.

Our family does an annual cottage trip every September and Pinecrest Cottages is a huge piece of this tradition. The resort is absolutely perfect for families with a sandy beach, dock, boat launch, boat rentals, games room for rainy days, beautiful view, and a safe place for the little ones to run free. The cabins are equipped with everything needed. The laundry machines are also very appreciated by some of our family members😂. The view is my personal favourite. The owners are amazing, friendly and always helpful. Also our little's adore Diego! Cant wait to go back next year!

We have returned for a second September with the entire family. Diego and Lynn are so accommodating. The cottages and boats are clean and well taken care of. Diego was by everyday to see if we needed anything. Our two Granddaughters took a shine to Diego and couldn't wait to see him come by everyday. We will definitely be booking again.

I just got back today from Pinecrest, I spent a few days with my family. It's simply perfect in every thing (the location, the view, the quality and size of the cottage). The owner (Diego) always makes sure that the guests are fully satisfied, even if you don't have any equipment he would happily provide it to you. It's 5 stars in everything. We'll surely visit the same resort again and will recommend this amazing place to all my friends and the relatives. Once again, thanks Diego for this great vacation!

We stayed at Pinecrest for a week with family this September and had an awesome holiday. The cottages were clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well appointed with all our needs. We rented a pontoon boat for the week for fishing and siteseeing. It was clean and ran like a dream. Diego and Lyn were welcoming and always available for questions and to make sure we wanted for nothing.

It is amazing how 2 people (Lynn & Diego) run such a great resort. My family and friends have been going up every year for many years now and it gets better and better. This year they added a games room with pinball, pool table, video games and Foosball.
Cottages are constantly being updated. The week we were there we saw 4 doors being replaced.
I highly recommend Pinecrest Cottages for all.
Diego & Lynn are great people and will go out of their way to make you stay great.

Are second visit
We extremely enjoyed our stay at Pinecrest Cottages this past week. Our unit was clean, and Diego and his staff were all friendly and made us feel at home. We also had great time fishing at the docks, and we even had blue herring visit us while we were fishing. We also rented a boat and took leisurely ride around the lake. The daily rental rate was quite reasonable. The view of the lake from our unit was beautiful, especially during sunset. Getting there from Toronto was quite easy, only 1.5 hours away, much better traffic then heading North. Overall, it was a great experience

My family and I really enjoyed our time at Pinecrest Cottages. It was very clean and well cared for. Any requests or problems were quickly looked after and resolved. Diego and Lynn are friendly, hard-working hosts and they have made sure that there is always a lot of things for everyone to do. The arcade and the kayaks were big favorites of my family. The views of the sunsets are spectacular. I definitely recommend this place.

Beautiful water retreat. Great hosts who go above and beyond to make your week enjoyable. Very clean and organized. We love renting the pontoon boat and fishing numerous times a day catching bass, perch, sunfish, catfish and walleye. We haven’t been so lucky but others have also caught Muskie. Fish can also be caught off the dock. There is a small beach area, fire pit, fish cleaning hut, recreation room, and beautiful sunsets. This was our second year and we will be going again! Make sure to take peanuts for the chipmunks and minnows for the frequent visiting blue heron. Thanks Diego and Lynn

We booked the cottage relatively on short notice due to travel restrictions. We couldn't have been happier with our choice.
The sunsets are amazing, the atmosphere, owners and fellow campers were all awesome. We seemed to be one of the new people. After chatting with families around us everyone seems to be returning customers and when we go back we will be too. Book in advance because once everyone knows about this place it will be booked solid.

It is obvious to any guest that the owner, Diego takes great pride in his property. I have never seen anyone so hard working and so friendly. I truly believe he is the reason why so many guests keep coming back year after year. I probably will do the same.
The cabins are constantly being renovated. They offer basic but comfortable amenities. I would recommend the lakeside cabins as they have the best views. Many guests sit outside their cabins reading or contemplating the lake. Many families partake in the healthy lifestyle the resort offers: fishing, swimming, paddling, etc.
