Services
Valley Veterinary Clinic was founded by Dr. John Stinson in 1970. For several years he and Dr. Linwood Fisher practised out of his home on Charlotte St. in Carleton Place. They purchased the clinic in the mid 70's and practised out of the current location for many years, servicing the small animal owners of Carleton Place and area and also the agricultural community at large.
Dr. Lea Button is originally from Sioux Lookout, Ontario, in the northwest of the province. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (Guelph) in 2004. After graduating Lea came to the Ottawa area to work in an equine practice in Embrun where she worked with Standardbred race horses and focused on equine reproduction.
We offer a wide range of services including medical, diagnostic, surgical, and preventive health care needs for your pet so they live a longer, healthier, happier life. One of the best things you can do for your pet is to keep him or her healthy. And one of the easiest and least expensive ways to do that is by bringing in your pet for regular exams and vaccinations.
When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we will usher you into an examination room as soon as we have one available. Our goal is to see all of our clients and patients on time, and although we have contingencies for emergencies, there will be times where the unexpected will create delays.
When your pet is presented to our veterinarians, whether for its annual check up or for a medical problem, it will receive a detailed general physical exam. The GPE (general physical exam) consists of detailed history taking and a thorough examination of your pet. The Doctor will advise you of current medical concerns (if any) such as dental disease, as well as ways to prevent future health problems.

Compassionate and caring. They took good care of Sprocket on his last day alive and were sympathetic to me. I’m very appreciative for the way they treated us even after Sprocket bit the technician. I’m deeply sorry this happened but they still treated us with respect and care. I miss you deeply Sprocket.

Beyond unprofessional with a rather extreme grandiose opinion of themselves and the services they provide The level of condescension and rudeness displayed is truly laughable.
In reality, this practice has lived off the stellar reputation of the previous owner since acquiring it on her retirement over 10 years ago - it has sadly slipped very hard and far.
Arrogance and entitlement never are the keys to long term survival in the business world and one can only live on the reputation and the goodwill of others for so long

I had to take my dog in as emergency to be put down. They squeezed me in so he wasn't suffering any longer (convulsions). Very, very caring. Did not rush me. Told me to take all the time I needed both before and after. I have had them for a few years now for all 3 of my pugs and they are by far better than any of the other vets I had had in town in the past. Best by far!!!

I have to say that the valley vet team went above and beyond for my husky who was extremely sick and we were not sure what we were dealing with . They diagnosed him with severe pancreatitis and treated him for 4 days and were always in contact and always friendly and honest and very compassionate. They sent him home with amazing instructions. Thank you Valley Vet Team !

They are an absolutely fabulous team! My 11 year old rescue dog, Yeti, has been a client since he was 3, and they've helped us through all his ups and downs, weird issues and normal check-ins. They always make us feel like we have good reason to be there, and they treat our concerns and worries seriously. Thank you!
