Orthodontic solutions are best provided by certified orthodontists. This is because orthodontists have the highest level of training, experience and education to diagnose, treat and help prevent problems with the alignment of your teeth and jaws, and the growth of your face in general. Treatment can at times be short, but may sometimes take months or years allowing for gradual changes with lasting, beautiful results.
The key difference between getting your Orthodontic treatment done by a certified Orthodontist is that they are specialists in this area of dentistry, ensuring your treatment is done right the first time! Specialists are trained to know and receive up to 3 or 4 more years training in this field then general Dentists.

Orthodontists may cost a little more then general dentists but getting it right the first time is why you would choose to deal with an Orthodontist who is after all specially trained in this area of dentistry. Especially in the area of Invisalign, which is widely marketed as a system available in both general dental offices as well as orthodontic practices.
For patients looking to achieve a beautiful smile with an invisible option, we would suggest Invisalign. This system allows the teeth to be gently aligned over time using a series of aligners (all of them invisible!) We offer iTero 3D imaging at our office which allows our patients to have their entire treatment plan processed and visualized in 3D space in just one visit.
While the Canadian and American Association of Orthodontists recommend children be evaluated by an orthodontist by the age of 7, you need not wait if you have any concerns. You certainly should not wait for all the permanent teeth to grow in (a very common misconception). We often provide early screening examinations to determine if your child's teeth are developing correctly.
