Unlike a regular clinic offering 24 hour service, the Huronia VEC is set up solely for emergency medicine and surgery. There is at least one Veterinarian and Registered Veterinary Technician on the premises during our business hours, experienced in dealing with critical care cases, so you can rest assured that your pet is in good hands and will not be left unsupervised overnight.
Huronia Veterinary Emergency Clinic is proud to be an Accredited Emergency Practice with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario.

I don’t even have words to describe how horrible this emergency clinic is. Given the fact that someone would only go to this clinic for a emergency, you would think they would be understanding of your emotions with whatever is happening with your pet. Instead, they only care about payments rather than the care of your pet. My pet needed emergency surgery, having gone back and forth with them to finally agree on the surgery and the agreed estimate. Once I gave them the ok for the surgery they than changed the estimate to almost double and required a deposit of my original quote. Completely unacceptable

Thank you SO much for trusting me! See you before noon on Thursday, Jan. 27/22. I highly recommend your clinic, where I brought my Kita in July/20. Where would pet lovers/parents be without you?! Sammy is glad to be home and feeling SO much better. As do I !!! Blessings to you all for your expertise, care and understanding. Your staff puts kindness back into 'human.'

Will never recommend this vet to ANYONE. I called them today to inform them about a cat that got hit by a car they told me to call the city of Barrie. (I should mention I am the second person who called about this with no help from them) the city of Barrie won’t pick up the cat until 8:30. the cat is severely bleeding, and because I do not have the money to help this poor kitty they refuse to do anything for the poor animal. this place is absolutely despicable to allow an innocent stray cat who was possibly hit by a car and may pass away due to blood loss because the woman who found the kitten

We brought our cat here late at night when he was unable to urinate anything except for small drops of blood. He was stable, so he was lower on the priority list but the staff made sure that he was taken care of in a time efficient manner. The dr was unable to get a urine sample as our cat managed to pass some urine on his own- so we were instructed to bring back a sample of urine. Even though they were extremely busy we felt like we were still a priority and they promptly tested the sample and were able to clearly and efficiently communicate the problem. Bear and I can’t thank the kind, knowledgeable

Found a cat in the sidewalk by my house, appeared to have ingested something. When calling they told me it was animal control and did not offer the emergent care this cat needed. Brought the cat to the hospital and informed the staff I wasn’t sure if the cat made it or not but wanted to bring it in to confirm and get checked for a chip, they did not want to provide care and told us to bring it elsewhere. Brought to another hospital and the cat still had a heart beat. Due to the lack of compassion they had this cats urgent care needs were delayed. They were more concerned about body disposal then

Our dog, Mocha, ingested a fish hook on Christmas Day and needed emergency surgery that evening. The doctors and all of the staff were so caring and understanding. They took the time to explain everything and answer my many questions. Mocha is recovering well and it’s all thanks to the treatment and care he received at HVEC.

So good to know that we have such an excellent emergency care facility close by. This morning our dog met a van on the road and he lost. They were thorough in their examination, kept me well Informed in the parking lot throughout their triage, investigation and diagnosis. The doctor and staff were very attentive, understood my crazies and now we have our puppy at home. He will be sore and has some healing to do but I was also assured that if I had any questions, concerns or issues they would be there for us. Thank you.
