Dr. Katherine Roche graduated from the University of Alberta with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2008. Previously she graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She is proud to be using her engineering skills when building teeth. She is a busy parent with two kids.
Dr. Roche is committed to minimally invasive dentistry and customized care and runs her practice in an eco friendly manner. Britt graduated from Southern Illinois University in 2014 and holds both her American and Canadian Dental Hygiene License to practice. She takes great pride in providing comfortable and thorough cleaning appointments.

Guardian Dental is located centrally in the Oliver and Westmount Neighbourhood in Edmonton. We are also very close to downtown and Glenora. Free Parking available behind the Guardian building. When driving on 124 Street, turn West on 103 Avenue and take your first left into the alley and park in the marked area behind the building.
All our materials, products and office equipment are chosen very carefully for your protection and with consideration of our environmental footprint. We choose to reduce packaging, material waste, and promote use of recycled materials. We found biodegradable medical gloves! We like the green colour too.
We are happy to offer the Bioclear system to our patients. We want you to love your teeth as much as we do! The Bioclear technique, developed by Dr David Clarke, wraps individual teeth with dental composite filling material by using a specially shaped matrix that achieves the desired form. This technique requires several precise steps to achieve long-lasting and beautiful results that preserve healthy tooth structure.
Nobody likes surprises when it comes to paying for dental work, that's why we take the time to explain what will be done and how much it will cost*. Whenever possible, we offer you several treatment options based on what works for you. We are completely transparent about our fees for dental work. All our fees are set using the 2019 Alberta Dental Association + College Fee Guide.

Dr. Roche is one of my favorite dentists. She is very knowledgeable and competent and I always learn fun facts from her when she checks my teeth. All of the staff are very friendly too. I love that the clinic is eco-conscientious and can recommend products that aren't tested on animals. I also really love my hygienist there too, she creates a very laid back and relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Roche is treating my 4 year old son with an orthodontic appliance to help expand his jaw to give needed space to his tongue so he can eventually correct his speech. She’s doing some really innovative work with early orthodontic treatment and I highly recommend seeing her. She’s great with children, her staff is welcoming and it’s a nice bright environmentally friendly office. Early orthodontic intervention is the way of the future and Dr. Roche is ahead of the curve.

I think it's pretty rare to find a dentist who loves their job and loves teeth like Dr. Roche does. I have learned more about teeth and prevention in a few visits here than from any other dentists my whole life. Guardian Dental is a very comfortable place with amazing staff. Our whole family has been here now, with only great experiences.

I read about Guardian Dental online as I researched a treatment that I wanted. My dentist doesn't do restorative dentistry.
I called the office and was booked for a consultation two days later. I didn't need a referral.
I liked the Dentist and her staff. I booked the procedure to be done one week following the consult.
I have complete confidence in Dr. Roche and the staff.
I am happy with the procedure and booked another appointment in a couple of weeks.
The office is bright and spacious. It's colourful and chill.

I am so impressed with gaurdians dental . One of the most important aspects I look for in a dentist is how they treat my children . My youngest at 7 was highly anxious last year just going for a check up . This fist time visit to this clinic and he was so busy visiting with dr. Roche he had no time to be anxious . She was very positive with him. He came away saying it was a fun positive experience going to the dentist . This dentist redefines dentistry. Not only is Dr. Roche brilliant, caring, careful, and innovative, but her whole practice reflects her values of teaming up with the patients for their care. She explains everything that's going on so it's easy to understand on a deeper level. I have personally never liked going to the dentist. When I was younger I had braces and had dental appointments every month for years. As an adult, my dental visits are often infrequent, but I think that might change now. After a recommendation from another person, I had an appointment at Guardian Dental. The staff were incredibly friendly, nice and my teeth cleaning was much better than expected. Katherine, one of the two main dentists who owns the practice, is very friendly, professional and a wonderful human overall. I was looking for a dentist close to my home and didn't go by much else. I needed an appointment ASAP, so I went ahead and called Guardian Dental. Got booked just a couple days from my call. All the staff were super friendly and you can tell they love what they do and working together. Brittany was very thorough cleaning my teeth and caught some things my previous dentists and dental hygienist never paid the slightest attention to. I took my little girl here for her first trip to the dentist!
They have a brilliant kids corner with bean bags and toys to keep those kiddos entertained in the waiting area. They really made a fuss of my daughter and let her have a look around, even in the patient rooms (unoccupied of course), to ensure she felt at home before her first examination. She only had five teeth at the time but I felt like they took extra special care of her and gave her a little toy to take home and a baby toothbrush! They even gave me some advise on how to brush her teeth which is no easy feat.
