Catherine graduated with honours from the dental hygiene program at Algonquin College in 2004. She has been an integral part of the team at the Hazeldean Family Dental Centre since 2008. Catherine is committed to providing care in an informative & gentle way. She strives to make the dental experience of all patients a pleasant one through her calm and caring nature.
For your peace of mind, and that of our staff, we have invested in hospital grade HEPA filtration systems for the treatment rooms. Fewer appointment times will be available and they will be staggered to optimize distancing measures. We ask that all patients entering the office use the hand sanitizer provided and wear a mask.
Dr. Simon drew inspiration from her own dentist in Sudbury, Ontario when she decided to pursue a career in dentistry. She began her journey of lifelong learning by obtaining her B.Sc. with honours at Laurentian University, before studying dentistry at l'Universit de Montral.
She graduated with her D.M.D. (Doctorate of Dental Medicine) in 1997, & along with her classmate Dr. Kyra de Gouw, decided to open the Hazeldean Family Dental Centre in Kanata.She enjoys most aspects of general, preventive & cosmetic dentistry, & attends a wide variety of continuing education courses on a regular basis.

Great place, and great staff. My hygenist Lori, is the best. She understands my needs, and has a great sense of humour. Dr De Goew is thorough and was wonderful when it came to replacing an implanted tooth that was defective.
The receptionist (Bridgette) is ALWAYS smiling. Thanks for making this a great place to go. :)

I have been a patient here since 2002. The friendly and professional staff are amazing, and they have adapted to address Covid protocols so well, I really feel safe when I go in for appointments. They are on time and caring, I can’t say enough about the positive experiences my family and I have had here over the nearly 20 years we’ve been in Kanata. Highly recommended them to everyone!

There are not enough superlatives to describe the level of service that they provide. I have been a client of more than 15yrs and the attentiveness of the staff, from arrival and meeting with the welcoming administrators to the actual dental work and its completion of the procedures by the dentists and their assistants has been outstanding and their professionalism, exemplary. The same is true for the dental hygienists. The staff are without exception engaged, cheerful, cooperative and helpful. They seem like a happy family.
My hygienist is careful and effective. Unlike some hygienists, she does not slip into my gums.
The dentist is conservative, suggesting work only when really needed and always explains all options without pressure. She has done some effective repairs on failing work done by my previous dentist, who insisted on replacing my 50 year old fillings which I had not been having trouble with.
They generally start appointments on time.
I heartily recommend this office.

Our family have been clients here for 13+ years and are always very pleased with the service. The reception staff are superb...always very pleasant and accommodating. My family has been going to this dentist since it opened in 1977. We are extremely happy with our care. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Its like family. Dr. Simon is amazing. She is very thorough, and gentle. Explains as she goes along. April her assistant is very lovely, she to always puts you at ease. Allie and Bridgett are very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. Always nice to chat and catch up.The clinic is exceptionally clean, and well looked after. The hygienist are great. I have had my teeth cleaned by a number of the different girls. They are all amazing. Always enjoy my time

Been a client/patient here for almost 20 years. Love the efficient and very professional service, and the warm and friendly atmosphere. Very good with children and those with fear of dentists. I've had a lot of work done over the years (cleanings, fillings, root canals, crowns, invisalign), and have always been treated very well. Even though I don't live nearby any more, I travel the distance to stay with this clinic. I have recommended many of my friends to them over the years, and will continue to do so. Dr Simon and her staff are amazing!!!

With four kids, I'd say we're "heavy users" of dental services :) My daughter broke off my son's two front teeth, we've had a couple of sets of braces/invisaligns, there have been extractions and many fillings over the years for all six of us. Not only is Dr. Simon very professional and clearly talented in her field, but I am always impressed by the sense of kindness, teamwork and respect exhibited by the office's dental staff both to clients and one another. It's a huge plus to walk into a place and feel that everyone is, well, happy. Super job, Dr. Simon, and we look forward to many more years
