Montmartre Bakery
Montmartre Bakery is an artisan bakery that sells preservative-free bread and baked goods made with natural ingredients, whole grains and in-season fresh fruits. A family-run business, Montmartre has been baking delicious products in Scarborough for over two generations. Over the years, the owners and bakers have adapted original European recipes and traditional baking techniques to produce healthy product choices without compromising on taste.

Montmartre doesn't use trans fats in their bread. They never add chemical additives or chemical preservatives and offer vegan, fat free, gluten free and sugar free choices. As artisan bakers, we bake our bread fresh every day. Every recipe has been developed using only a few, high quality, natural ingredients in order to produce a fresh, delicious and healthy loaf of bread.
Services
All baked goods naturally start to get stale over time. Our bread contains no mold inhibiters (preservatives) so it will start to go moldy in 5-6 days when stored at room temperature. For best quality we recommend you use our products within 3-4 days. Dina's Way- Dina is our afternoon cashier. After a busy day at work she has come up with this quick and easy way to roll out our pizza dough and is happy to share with you.
Did you know? Canada's new Food Guide recommends that you make at least half of your grain product choices whole grain each day. Whole grains are a source of fibre and typically are low in fat. A diet rich in whole grains has been shown to have a number of health benefits and may help reduce your risk of heart disease.

Amazing bakery!! The 7 multigrain bread is my absolute favorite. Stay away from the chocolate chip cookies unless you can afford to eat a whole bag. Rosemary is such a delightful woman who told me I could place an order when they ran out of what I wanted. I will keep going back even if it's not next door for me.

My husband brought danishes from this bakery today. They were the best I ever had!!! The filling was not sticky or too sweet as it typically is in other danishes, it was very delicate. Danishes were extremely fresh so to stop at just one was impossible. I definately recommend this place!!!

Big up Rosemary , who is always friendly and positive . I work nearby and go to this bakery often for their cinnamon danishes which are sold out sometimes. I like them so much that I sometimes buy 1 box of danishes ,I forget how many in a box. Check out this bakery, they have other tasty baked goods, fresh each day.

My friends bought me an apple pie from this bakery and it’s honestly the best pie I’ve ever had. We couldn’t finish it all in one day so we kept it in the fridge and even third day pie was incredible. The apples were so sweet but still had crispness in them and weren’t mushy. I added some vanilla ice cream to it and was speechless at how amazing they complimented each other.

Absolutely love the Danishes. Haven't tried the bread yet but everything looks fabulous. Pictured here: lemon, cherry, blueberry, apple and two custard combinations. The cheesy pretzels are moreish.

Their baked goods are made with good quality ingredients, the apple crumble, apple pie, apple strudel, lemon pie and danishes are amazing! I always look forward to their seasonal pumpkin pie and bread which is absolutely scrumptious! Customer service has always been GREAT and I would definitely 💯 recommend this bakery!

Best croissants and Danish pastries in Toronto. Also the puff pastry dough.
Rosemary is especially efficient, friendly and very professional. A smiling, helpful and kind face is a bonus when you have waited for a bit to get served. There's always a lineup, but moves fast. Go early before everything finishes!

Best European style bakery in the area! Who can resist the aroma of freshly baked scrumptious croissants?
As soon as you walk inside Montmartre Bakery the aroma of freshly baked goods fills the air.

Come here for an assortment of artisanal breads, so many varieties to choose from. Pies, cookies, muffins and dinner rolls surround the bakery. Their butter croissants, raisin cinnamon rolls, apple strudels and flakey buttery danishes (cherry, apple, blueberry, lemon, custard and combinations of flavours) were to die for! Baked fresh out of the oven, one bite of these delights will make you return

One of Toronto's hidden gems, tucked away in a nondescript industrial area. I wouldn't exactly call it fancy, artisanal bread, but they have great variety, good quality, and amazing prices for the quality and amount you get. Plus their bread keeps very well. To me, the really stand-out products here are the pretzels and the strudels (especially love the cherry!). I also always appreciate the super-friendly service at the checkout counter.

A bakery tucked away in a commercial area. I assume they're goods are sold in supermarkets or other cafes that don't bake their own stuff. Prices are good, tons of bread and pastry options. I went on a saturday morning, and they were quite busy. A short lineup outside, but that's due to them only allowing a handful of people inside. They rearranged the interior to better allow for social distancing and flow of traffic. But customer seem to be greedy and still come and grab stuff infront of you. But i don't see a point, cuz there's only one way out, and you will eventually

Get 'em while they're hot ! The product moves fast here and for good reason! Delicious all around. Reasonable prices for high quality freshly baked goods. I've come here before to collect boxes of goodies (mostly danish ) for parties and they were a hit.

Today I decided to purchase fresh pizza dough for dinner and bag of steaming chocolate chip cookies. Wow! This place can't be beat. There was a short line up outside but only waited less than 10 min. Fantastic spot off an industrial street on midland ave. no brainer to check it out if you're in the area.

I have been going to Montmartre Bakery for more than 20 years. Their products, especially the pies and strudels has always been the best for quality & value. Of course, COVID-19 is not going to stop me from craving their pies.

Early in this lockdown, they already re-organized their front area to better served their customer in a safe and responsible manner. The lady who greets the customers in the front is the gem of the store. She made sure everyone was keeping a safe social distance between each other.
During one of the my visit, there was a problem will my order, she was very empathetic

My husband and I have been coming to Montmartre bakery for years as they have the best apple strudel money can buy and the ladies that works there are usually quite friendly. Except for our recent visit to the bakery. There's a European lady at the door managing how many people are allowed in the bakery which is totally understandable with covid19 going on right now. However, the minute I got into the store, she was telling me to not talk to the man standing behind me when I did not instigate the conversation. I told her that and she brushed it off and told me she could get in trouble. I

The prices are amazing here! They have breads, pastries, cookies, pretzels. I'm sure you will walk out with something given the low prices here.

TIP: come early or else you may be disappointed with the selection they have near the end of the day.

Like everybody else is saying here, this is not a fancy bakery. You will not expect something for occasions or a place to sit and relax. There are the shop and factory in a big space. I went there on Saturday early afternoon and many things were already gone. There was a long line for the cashiers. I got a loaf of bread and a whole apple pie and the prices were good like Walmart or No frills. Breads and pies are pretty good and prices are good. There seem to be lots of regular customers and it is a popular place in the area.

Love the cherry strudel, which can be bought in full-size three-foot-long monsters, or 1/2 size as well, and are classic and exactly what you'd expect, right down to the flaky pastry and huge crystals of sugar dotting the tops.
Personally, I could go for a little more pastry and a little more filling, but that's a minor quibble, they are delicious and the full length version certainly will make a dramatic entry to any party or potluck.

Whenever I'm lazy and need to get something up for a party, I always make my way to Montmartre Bakery to pick up their strudels since it's always a hit. Everything here is made fresh daily and since it's a wholesaler, the prices are incredibly cheap. Strudels come in flavours like apple ($5.50), cherry ($6.10) and blueberry ($6.50) and are TWO FEET LONG!!! I usually choose to get half a strudel (for half the price of course) so I can get more than one flavour. The strudels are nice and flakey and I'll usually get it topped off with icing sugar if I'm heading straight to

Wow!!
This is a hidden BAKERY staple in Scarborough that's been around for years. Its truly a hidden gem that located on a side street off of Midland.
A famous German (though it sounds French) is serving up some traditional baked goods that have always been reasonably priced.
Come here early if you want first choice of baked goods because by the afternoon, there's not a lot left over.
Personally I am a big fan of their apple strudel, baked pies and coooooookies. For those who know me, cookies, especially chocolate chip is my weakness.

Great bakery. It's hidden in an industrial area where you would never find it by yourself. They have a great selection of different breads and pastries. Everything I tried was really good (dark rye bread, pretzels, cinnamon roll). The pretzels stand out in particular. They are the best pretzels I have tested in Toronto and they alone are worth the trip. I'm German, so trust me on the pretzels.

Really nice place to grab some break for super. Everything is so soft and fresh. I got some sliced bread, buns, a piece of butter cake and an apple strudel, all for under 10$! You can't go wrong.

The strudel and cake was the perfect combination of sweet and softness, I couldn't believe it. And they give a really large amount.

The place itself is pretty hard to get to, you have to drive down a bit and once you park you have to go through the side door, not the front door. Wish they had more signs, they had one for parking which was perfect.
