Discovery Music is currently offering online music lessons. As the school re-openings progress, we will transition to in person lessons for those who want them. Since 2002, Discovery Music has been helping people explore their musical potential through personalized instruction for students of all ages.
We all tend to spend more time on our online devices now, and there is a lot of information available for little to no money. This can seem like a good way to get started with learning an instrument, however what we see as professional music educators is that invariably, the student who has started online has developed habits that hinder their progress.
I found Discovery music through a kijiji add I was interested in. They sell and service many instruments as well as operate a music school. I was most impressed with the excellent, friendly and knowledgable service as well as the very competitive pricing. I will definitely continue to do business there, they are a hidden gem that deserves recognition.
Discovery Music is an independent music school for people of all ages. I had such a wonderful experience with Discovery Music! I had always wanted to take singing lessons and got to fulfill that dream as a mature adult, and even performed in the student concert! I appreciated the encouragement and patience of my excellent instructor, and am so grateful to Darcie & Neil for their professionalism and for helping me be at ease and gain confidence to do this. They are 100% interested in helping students achieve their goals!

About 17 years ago I brought our son to Discovery Music. The previous week he wanted to become a professional soccer player but this week he wanted to learn how to play a bass guitar. Discovery had a brilliant plan that provided a bass guitar, amp and ten lessons, payable in ten instalments. I figured in a couple of weeks my son would move on to his next career choice and I would be out only two payments. Instead, my son became absolutely committed to learning how to play and continued playing and learning, eventually graduating from the Victoria Conservatory of Music. I credit this largely

My son took bass lessons with Julian for one year in preparation for music school auditions. He had taken piano and guitar lessons in the past but had just taught himself to play bass the prior year. While he could play, his technique and theory needed some work. Julian worked with him and he was accepted at all three schools he auditioned for. It is now reading week of his first year and he is back at Discovery for some extra lessons to help him prepare for his next "jury". Thanks for getting him on the right track and keeping him there!

I was very keen on obtaining information about a guitar rental, I stated that it was not for me and when he asked me who it was for I told him I could not say as I am bound by contract, he then proceeded to say he could not help me and hung up on me very rudely. I called him back and explained the circumstances and he didn't care he did not want my business because I would not tell him who my employer was. I found him to be rude and not very helpful at all.
