Our kids continue to love it and it has expanded our range of "local" parks that we regularly visit. I've even transported some small-medium lumber in Home Depot runs.

I am disappointed and sorry for posting this review since this seems to be a top rated bike shop. However, my experience was less than stellar when I have contacted them. I bought my bike at this shop in 2018. More recently, a part stopped working, a rear light. This is important to me since I ride in the night a lot due to my job and safety is paramount riding at those times. I called their shop and when there was no answer, followed their site instructions and texted them my issue and asked about how to replace it or if they carry the part- No answer! All I need is at least an acknowledgement

I bought my Brompton at Urkai a few years ago. After many, many kilometres, it was time for a tuneup. I have the 6 speed. The 3 speed hub was perfect but I’d lost the ability to drop into the hardest gear. So I called Urkai and booked a time slot.
Covid is still on at time of writing....
Nathan greeted me right on time and took the bike in for a full service while I ran some errands. An hour later he called—said the bike was ready. He suggested I ride it to ensure satisfaction. I took it for a quick spin and the setup was perfect.

WORTH the drive! I recently decided to drive out to Urkai to test out a few Ebikes. These bikes are an investment so you want to make sure you get the right bike FOR YOU. I am not an easy fit for bicycles for many reasons so this was by no means a simple sale. I had the pleasure of working with Anthony, who took the time to answers questions via email, then on the telephone and then even more in person. When I was in the shop each bike had to be adjusted many times before I could test ride it and each one came with a barrage of questions....Anthony was patient, understanding and very knowledgeable

Recently purchased a 7 speed bakfiets.nl long cargo bike sight unseen from Andrew. He was very helpful answering questions up to the purchase and after the sale. Andrew arranged shipping and handled all paperwork associated with import to the States. The bike was purchased at a very reasonable cost and of high quality. A person in the market for a quality European bike can't go wrong by contacting Urkai. By the way, riding a Dutch style bike is something to experience, it's so much more comfortable and relaxing and the quality is incredible.

I just purchased my second bike from Urkai at 678 Guelph Line. My first bike (which I rode for several years) was stolen a couple of weeks ago. They were super helpful. They built my bike to specifications right away. Luckily everything was in stock so I got exactly the bike I wanted, with all the accessories I had accumulated for my other bike. It's surprising how accustomed you become to having these little bells and whistles. I rode my bike home and LOVED every second of the ride. And of course I got the usual "nice bike!" comments that I was used to getting when riding my first Urkai. Love

I purchased an Azor omafiets from Urkai and had it shipped to Regina, SK. I bought it sight unseen, but the online reviews for these bikes were very good. I dealt with Joseph throughout the entire process by email. Ordering was easy and they offered online banking for payment which was convenient. I ordered in mid-July when they were low in stock, so I did have to wait for my bike to be built and shipped from the Netherlands. Delivery was originally estimated for end of August or the beginning of September. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the cargo ship and it had to return to Rotterdam

Absolutely worst place to buy a bike. DO NOT PURCHASE A BIKE FROM THIS PLACE. I made the mistake of buying one and had nothing but problems.. was extremely unhappy and needless to say I got stuck with a 2,000$ bike that I have been trying to sell on my own for almost 1.5 years. Horrible customer service and lack of knowledge. I am very surprised this place is still in business. Please do yourself a favor and go else where!!!

I really wanted to like this shop. When Mr Vegetarian and our children want to test bikes, the owner (Andrew) was cheerful and friendly, and let them ride whatever they wanted while being pretty good-natured about the clambering-about habits of certain small children. We arranged to buy an expensive ($3k+) cargo bike, tricked out with all sorts of kid-related accoutrement. We said at the beginning that we were nervous about buying a bike in Burlington and living in Toronto, but they had the Milano we wanted and Andrew assured that they were in Toronto "all the time" offering mobile service

We live in Ottawa, so dealt with Andrew exclusively by email and phone. The customer service was excellent. We asked many questions and always received prompt and helpful replies - even though it was during the busy holiday season.
Delivery was quick and professional and Andrew made sure to get us our bike in time for Christmas.
After-purchase support has been outstanding too. Andrew has been just as responsive after purchase as he was before.

I have been very happy with the Urkai experience. I bought a Bakfiets cargo bike to haul around my 125lb Bernese & 25lb Ganaraskan dogs. They are happy and I am happy. Andrew sent an email offering an at house tune up for the season and it was great value. They are doing a warranty fix on it too. Overall a great experience and I recommend them for sales & service of these very cool bikes.

What an amazing concept! It's the only store around to carry a wide selection of Dutch & British brand bikes and accessories. Their bikes are beautiful and so comfortable to drive. They can even build you a custom one.
Not only are Andrew & Kendra passionate about their bikes and the whole culture that surrounds it, they love to promote healthy living and safety driving through informative Free Clinics.
It's truly worth the time to visit their store. The fun part is you could test drive any bike you want!
