A highly suggest restaurant for romantic date night!
We ordered a chef’s special seafood pasta and a lobster ravioli.
While the pasta was very filling, the lobster ravioli was very small in size.
The server also gave out a perfect wine under our comments and suggestions.
The server must’ve forgotten when we asked for more bread, that we kept waiting but had to ask again towards the end.
Overall, I enjoyed the dinner here at Mamma Teresa!

When you make the optimal decision to eat at Mamma Teresa’s, you’re choosing an experience beyond just a meal. Our server John at Table 1 was undoubtedly the best server we have ever experienced, with myself having a history in the industry. The food was well portioned and authentic. Atmosphere is enchanting. Wine selection top notch. We were just in the mood for some Italian when we opted to go here and it quickly become our ritual restaurant when we’re back for Christmas / celebrating our engagement. It’s a special place that treats you like family and with moms best cooking.

Food was great and service was fantastic. We each had the snails for starters and it was very tasty. Save some bread for dipping it in the garlic sauce. The fresh bread is served right away and it was nice and warm. I had the combination plate that had veal parmigiana, tortellini and cannelloni that was stuffed with veal. My partner had the Penne with Italian sausage. Everything was very tasty.

Mamma Teresa's is easily the best Italian food in Ottawa.
Every time my wife and I go, the staff make us feel like we're family. Extremely attentive and kind, and always willing to go out of their way to accommodate any sort of food allergy/preference.
I've eaten here at LEAST 50 times, and have never been anything but delighted with my order. Everything on the menu is delicious, and the staff can always provide an excellent recommendation.
The entire restaurant is kept immaculately clean, and the staff make sure to abide by all protocols to provide everyone a safe dining experience.

Delicious and classic Italian food, with generous portions. Staff are attentive and hard-working. Very classy atmosphere.
However, we got sat at a table in a corner that felt improvised likely because the restaurant was quite busy, even though we had reservations. I felt uncomfortable with all the foot traffic behind me, waiters rushing back and forth, and afraid that someone would spill something on me.

Covid rules not respected. ID not checked with vaccine passport. All (except one) of the staff had masks half off: with their noses out. Guy making drinks at bar had his mask off or not on properly most of the time. Tables way too close inside It’s too bad because we love coming here but now that it’s too cold to sit outside, we won’t be coming back because we aren’t comfortable eating inside this restaurant with the disrespect of the sanitary measures.

Very attentive service, they were on top of all the orders! This place is great for large reservations and also intimate dining. The appetizers were very quick, but there was a small wait for the main course. Everyone was very happy with their meals. As mentioned in other reviews, the main courses could be plated nicer, but that's something that doesn't bother me personally.

Nothing less than the finest Italian food in Ottawa. Every time I visit this place my memory flies back to imagine Giuliano Boselli at the main stairs. Since they opened in 1970 they created a legend in the city and after Frank and Walter decided to take the steering wheel of the business in 2008 they have done a great job to continue the magic tradition of Mamma Teresa. The are so good that they opened a new restaurant in Chelsea, QC. It is been long time I wanted to try this restaurant it is a fancy one with cozy decoration and homey feeling with friendly welcoming staff , the food were amazing we ordered calamari and veal with mushrooms and artichoke and they were yummy and the grilled veggies tastes great and we had tiramisu for dessert and it is the real Italian tiramisu i was looking for , I will definitely go again to try their pastas , prices average around 30 or more for a plate . The only thing was the seating as our table was in the middle and everyone was passing by I would reserve a table beside the window next time

The is a must go to authentic Italian staple in Ottawa. Classy, polite and nothing but professionalism. Smoked salmon appetizer is fresh and incredible. Walter is an absolute gentleman, a delight to talk to and a fantastic host. The spaghetti mama Teresa is phenomenal as well as their lobster ravioli. I can't wait for my next visit. This establishment will never disappoint and the service is upscale and superb. With an extensive bar and wine list. Highly recommended.

Amazing service. Definitely one the best I've had at a restaurant. They are willing to make you any plate you want. I had a combo of three things, chicken Parmesan, chicken Alfredo, and ravioli. It was amazing! I also had a salad. Definitely will be coming back. A little more on the expensive side but worth it.

Just went here for the first time and I have to say: eat here now! Their menu is huge so you're sure to find something you'll like. Even though they were busy, service was great and relatively fast considering the crowd. The prices seem steep until you see the portions (they're generous!). I got veal parm with spaghetti and OMG! Best spaghetti bolognese of my life!

I love love love this place. You walk in and you feel like you are in Europe. The service is top notch, and for those that have read my other reviews, the service team there are bilingual which is impressive as most locations I find in Ottawa are unilingual.
The shrimp cocktail is what brings me back everytime. I know its just shrimp and a cocktail sauce....but it is perfectly spiced. Just enough tang to get your tastebuds going.

This was a fantastic meal. The staff were welcoming and very accommodating. The waiter suggested things and made my family feel like royalty. They treated my daughter, whose birthday we were celebrating, very special. Best thing is that they didn't do the awkward ID check for the drinks! (My 20 year old daughter looks about 14).
We started off with calamari, which was cooked to perfection and NOT greasy. We had a Caesar salad for both halves of the table. It was made properly with shaved parmesan, cooked bacon, and the yummy dressing well distributed but not overwhelming.

Mamma Teresa's has been my favourite place to go for Italian in Ottawa since I was introduced to it back in 2005. It is a treat and culinary experience to eat here. I can't explain more than down home Italian food that is done how it should be done. This place is an institution in centretown Ottawa. It's a place that many of the Political government crowd dines at on a regular basis. If you enjoy Italian food, get down here. Don't even look to go elsewhere. It's that good!

I'm surprised at all of the negative reviews the place has been getting. We went here as a family on Boxing Day and it was absolutely phenomenal.
The inside was gorgeous and the decor and lighting were very nice. This spot would be absolutely perfect for couples. It has that romantic atmosphere feeling.
I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was delicious and I would definitely recommend this to anyone. We also ordered antipasto which consisted of a cold plate of meats, cheeses and peppers, as well as a hot plate with calamari, scallops and shrimp. The seafood platter was the best calamari
