Traveling from Farvejle Denmark to Vancouver in the late sixties, Magnus brought with him authentic Danish recipes, techniques and a unique taste of Denmark to open his own Danish pastry shop.

For many years, Elite Bakery was my favourite bakery, and I cherished every bite of every Kransekage I had them bake as special orders, including my "recent" 50th birthday and my father's 95th this past February. In between birthdays I often treated myself to a few single pieces of Kransekage on sale behind the counter. My great aunt who had a bakery in Denmark in the 1930's to 1950's also baked Kransekage for family weddings etc and Elite matched her very high standard! Elite's heavy Danish rye bread and their Kringle were also loved by myself and numerous Danish family members.

I've been visiting Elite since I was a boy. I can't help but stop when I'm driving by for some of the delicious baking that isn't available in other bakeries I've been to. This is a wonderful 2nd generation family business. The kringles, copenhagens, Jamaican patties & sausage rolls are worth a stop alone and the other offering are all amazing.
