Please note we are currently working on updating our website. The BUY ONLINE feature is currently unavailable. Any pictures of bikes and parts on the website are for your enjoyment but do not necessarily reflect current stock. Backpeddling shirts, stickers, hats and whatever else you can put on your body to shamelessly promote your favourite bike shop (that's us, by the way).
Presented at the XXV International Cycling History Conference in Baltimore, this essay called, "The 1936 CCM Flyte: Canada's Contribution to the Streamlined Decade" gives a detailed history of one of our favourite bicycles. Here's a sweet little edit that Brandon and Brian put together from their Waterdown ride last week.
One of our crown jewels, a 1936 CCM Flyte with Troxel tool box saddle. This bike was only sold for five years, and only came with the tool box saddle and curved forks for the first few. The basis of the design was to make a smooth riding, aerodynamic looking bicycle. A really cool (and heavy!) bike in person, this Hollywood is equipped with a 3 speed hub and a period speedometer.

Really disappointed today. Based on reviews I expected to find knowledgeable, friendly staff to help me choose bikes for my sons' Christmas gifts. Almost everything was way out of my price range. I might have considered buying out of my price range, but was pointed out bikes that were "low end" and "nothing special." Felt like I was being pressured to NOT buy bikes there.

Great Bike Shop, Great service. Have great confidence that the mechanical requirements are done the proper way. Recently they have fixed my Rockhopper bike’s shifting problems and made some upgrades. I left feeling better than when I dropped my bike and I was surprised when the bill is little less than expected. I definitely recommend to this shop to anyone who is looking for great customer service experience and quality work done.

Came to backpeddling this summer looking for a bike seat. The sales associate was very off-putting and continuously made comments that I could not afford their prices. She would show me different seats and after each one say "but this is pretty expensive" and told me I should consider looking at their second hand selection. I still ended up purchasing one as my seat was ripped and I needed a new one, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
Will not be back and will not be recommending this store.

We've bought one bike here, had several services on purchased elsewhere bikes, and purchased some accessories and cool stickers! The customer service is incredible. What I love most is the place and staff are just the coolest you'll see and meet but manage to never make me feel uncool (which is a feat because I'm not cool at all). It's all about the bikes and getting you what you need to enjoy yours. Our family's bikes are old. Never an upsell, just a "cool bike, what can we help you with"? on the way in. I cannot recommend Backpedding enough!!! Well done, folks.

I needed a part I remembered from the 80s that allowed you to put a 990 brake system on a BMX with no 990 posts as the Sunday bike I bought for a great price I didn't notice had the brake posts ground off. Clayton not only had the part but knew exactly where it was stored in a cabinet amongst at least a hundred thousand old school bike parts that are throughout the store. Truly an amazing bike shop. If you need new or used parts for any bike or just want a bike you know will be warrantied properly he's the most knowledgeable and honest man in the bike industry. Forget the other places. Just go

I bought my Apollo at Backpeddling in 2016, Brandon helped me with what I was looking for and today I'm still enjoying my ride. Clayton provides great service to his shop and all the bike mechanics are great too they know what they're doing when it comes to bike repairs. Don't mind the bad reviews and don't go to Backpeddling being rude to employees they are all great, just wait and be patient when an employee is free to take care of you.

Thank you to everyone at Backpeddling for working as a team to make my e-bike perfect. There is a clear desire to meet customer expectations. With the way things are now, bring a hat to stand in the sun while you wait, but you will be given attention when it is your turn. The staff are working like machines to get everyone a bike as quickly as possible!

My husband and I started looking for bikes at places like Sport Chek and Canadian Tire. Well, for the prices they were selling their bikes at and the terrible selection, it didn't make sense to buy from them. So we did some research online and found Backpeddling. We don't live in Guelph, but the drive was doable (we're an hour away), so we went one Sunday morning to check it out. This place was awesome! We got there early enough that it wasn't too busy (probably around 11am or so), and immediately Dave asked us what we were looking for. This guy was EXTREMELY knowledgeable.

After having purchased a bike at another shop in Mississauga, I can say I'll be returning to Backpeddling over them any day.
My first personal experience with Backpeddling started a couple of weeks ago when I had picked up my bike from the other shop in Mississauga for its tune up and was surprised to discover they had not fixed my brakes after I had told the mechanics that they were not functioning properly. As soon as I found out they had disregarded my request I took my bike to Backpeddling and asked the guys there if they could take a look at them; they made an obnoxiously loud squealing

I've been coming to Backpeddling for years. Clayton, the owner, has created a shop that welcomes anyone, and has the greatest parts selection in Guelph by far. My family has bought over 10 bikes and countless parts from them over the past 6 years, and we have been nothing but happy.
I think of the head mechanics Nils has moved on, and same with another guy, so I cant comment on the mechanic service. However, every used bike I have purchased from them has preformed better than expected. All the shifting has been locked in and honed.
These guys have an amazing ability to source parts from
