Ortona Gymnastics Club
Enriching the lives of those in our community who strive for personal excellence, through gymnastics. The team was to be for boys and girls, ages 10 to 16 - The Bounders Gymnastics Club. In 1976 Edmonton became home to a second gymnastics club: The Edmonton Society for Gymnastics Fitness or Gym-Fit, as they would become known.

Soon after Gym-Fit's establishment, the 2 Edmonton gymnastics clubs decided to combine their efforts to increase gymnastics excellence in Edmonton. In 1979, Gym-Fit and Bounders successfully obtained a one-year lease for the Ortona Armoury, which was located at 101 Street and 97 Avenue in Edmonton Alberta.
Services
Saville Sports Centre has recently made some changes to the parking lot, which now includes walking distance paid parking stalls. Your vehicle will be towed if you are parked in a pay-only parking stall, and have not paid. A drop-off area outside the Saville Centre main doors will be marked with Ortona (OGC) signage, where you (the volunteer) will wait for parents to drop off their child(ren) during busy times at the facility.
This fundraiser is a healthy option for the family to grab and go as they head to school, work, or activities! All athletes will receive a hard copy of the order form & tracking sheet to bring home so you can begin selling boxes of apples. We are anticipating to receive the delivery in the afternoon, so pick up will begin at 4:30pm.
Saville Sports Centre is a facility owned by the University of Alberta. The University of Alberta, its buildings, labs, and research stations are primarily located on the traditional territory of Cree, Blackfoot, Metis, Nakota Sioux, Iroquois, Dene, and Ojibway/Saulteaux/Anishinaabe nations; lands that are now known as part of Treaties 6, 7, and 8 and homeland of the Metis.

Absolutely LOVE Ortona! Having switched from another club, this experience has been exceptional. Friendly faces, great communication, and above all else, a safe environment for our children. Highly recommend Ortona!

Had our son in the associated preschool. Ended up pulling him. Avoid Leapahs-Learning-Garden. Think they had a difficult group of kids last year and seemed at a complete loss on how to approach. Lacked any conflict resolution skills. Twice came in to discuss events to learn no supervisor seemed to be watching kids at the time. Second time was a trend, and we pulled him.

The toddler classes are in their own room and my kids enjoyed it very much! Coaches were very warm and hands-on with the kids.

Had my son's 6th birthday party here and it was terrible! The instructor was yelling at the kids the whole hour. She made one boy cry! One instructor for 16 kids. They were all waiting in line while the instructor helped the kids one by one on the parallel bars. No wonder they were goofing around! The tasks were too hard for them and they had to wait for it. It was not fun at all!!! Book your birthday party anywhere else! I complained to the manager and she was not helpful at all.

My daughter has been going to Ortona for 3 years now. The staff are very knowledgeable and make coming to the gym a pleasant experience. Would definitely recommend. The additional parking has definitely made a big difference while coming to weekend classes.

While the teachers are very sweet the inconsideration for paying customers is apparent. Parking horrible don't expect to find a spot unless you want to ride the LRT or else get a $30 parking ticket. We even came an hour early Also don't expect to be notified prior about classes being cancelled. They place very high expectations on parents to pay and be considerate while they don't practice this themselves. Was hoping to find a place that accommodates and relieves stress on a Saturday instead find it to be the most stressful event of the week. Will not be returning next season even though my daughter

Enrolled my daughter in a beginner's class. She really enjoyed it, but it was a misery for me as a parent. Parking is a total nightmare most days, so get there an hour early so you can roam the lot. Viewing for parents starts off upstairs, looking down on the main space and then you go downstairs to peer into the window of the Kinder space, where an entire section is around a corner and unviewable. I didn't even know they had a trampoline in there until the last day when parents were allowed in. Is it so hard to put up a mirror so parents can see what's going on over there? And speaking of the

Very well maintained and equipped drop him gym, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. It wouldn't be my first recommendation as there are often long waits to get in. Leave 20-30 minutes before your first visit to complete all the waivers and paperwork needed to get in. Champions is another alternative with a similar setup but less paperwork.
