Got a great pair of Gucci optical glasses here for a promotional price (50% off!) while the same pair was selling at full price in every other optical store in downtown (I literally check every other store). The staff were all very nice and accommodating. I even came back a few days after wearing the glasses to have them adjusted to fit my face better. They assisted very quickly and advised that I could come back and get them adjusted again any time in the future. My experience has been nothing but positive so I think they'll be my go-to store from now on!

Amazing customer service! I bought a designer pair of glasses only to find them a little uncomfortable after a coupler of weeks once i started wearing them for longer periods of time. Loved the style but they weren't for me in terms of fit. The staff was exceptionally helpful fitting me with an alternative pair that are equally as stylish but much more comfortable. it was a hassle free exchange process. I'd highly recommend Skylight Optical for your next pair of glasses

I had bought a pair of glasses online that did not sit on my face properly and I was looking for a place to help me with an adjustment, I was willing to pay. I first went to another shop and they rejected me because they would only adjust glasses bought from them or if they were luxury brand glasses. I walked into Skylight and they helped me out with an adjustment, no questions asked. They did not collect any payment too. I'm so grateful for their help and they've gained a future customer when I need my next pair of glasses!

I was so excited to visit the store and ended up buying a pair of glasses within 15 minutes of being in the store. However, when I received my glasses with the prescriptions in them and I put them on my head started hurting. I thought it was my eyes adjusting to a new prescription but after a few hours of wearing it my headache got worse. I called the store and they had told me to bring in my glasses. When I got there they said it was their fault for glazing the glasses. They "fixed" it in the back room and gave them back to me. I was disappointed I had to waste time to go down there

I had run out of contacts but didn't reorder as I knew I had an eye appointment coming up and didn't want to order lenses for my old prescription. Wasn't able to get contacts at my optician, so walked into Skylight Optical and was greeted courteously and promptly. They quickly assisted me to get my updated prescription of contact lenses. Very satisfied with my experience.

First stopped by this shop at the end of March and was so happy it was open as I had broke my glasses prior. Came and osman helped me ( super nice and friendly and sooo professional) was looking at something similar to what I had but they didn’t have it so he found me one close to it and was happy! Took about 3 days to be ready which is fine. But recently my glasses I bought from here broke in half when I was cleaning it and they were still under warranty and he was able to help me get them shipped out and replaced ! All I had to pay was the shipping fee which is understandable and only $30.

I’m very happy to get what I was looking for so quickly. I knew this place from a friend long ago. But I don’t want to travel to Richmond. So I found this store in DT which is much closer to me. I tried several pairs and the staff recommended some thing similar to what I wanted. However I don’t like them. So I show him the one I saw online and he quickly looked it up, and ordered for me. He (I don’t know his name) is very good at his job for sure. He did his measuring when I didn’t even know and he got every detail confirmed in one go. And when I went in to pick up today, I was so late

Really wish I had read reviews here first. Especially the negotiations thing. I started out at the Landsdowne location and ended up at the Robson location.
When I asked to see a pair of glasses (Landsdowne) I was asked about my coverage and I told the gentleman how much I was covered and voila my glasses came out to exactly what I was I covered! How about that?
I usually am a good shopper but he caught me at the perfect seller's moment and I was tired. I just bought them on the spot. But after wearing them a few days I went back with them because they were giving me a headache. They adjusted

Horrible experience , DO NOT BUY FROM HERE . I ordered some sun glasses with prescription and was told that they would be ready in three weeks . This was July 10th , after 4 weeks I did not receive a call from them or any sort of communication so I called them . They were unable to give me an update on my glasses because they said they were moving . It took 4 phone calls I'm which I was very nice to all of their staff to find out my glasses weren't ready . 5 weeks went by I called and they weren't ready , 6 weeks went by and nothing . I went in to ask if they could install nosepads on a pair of plastic glasses I owned. I got a wishy washy attitude, an outrageous estimate of about $100, and the wait time of 2 weeks or more. She did not seem to care. I left, made a call to Mount Pleasant Optometry, and had a quote of $50, same day, no fuss. If you want to get charged double, go to Skylight Optical.

I just got my eye exam this week, and turns out my prescription glasses from Skylight had DIFFERENT LENS MATERIAL for each lens!!!!! When I got my glasses, I noticed one lens was thicker but my prescription is identical for both eyes. The salesman told me it's b/c of "pupil distance" BS....... I've worn it for 2.5 years with different refractive index lenses....

I went to skylight optical to look for a cheap pair of Rayban sunglasses. But after I was approached by Kam , one of the people who works there everything changed. I ended up buying two pairs of Tom Ford sunglasses . I could never had been more satisfied with his service. He made the whole transaction go very smooth. Kam knows and understands optics very well. He was very helpful and patient . Great sense of humour too. He gave me a great deal on both pairs. I'll go back to him again for sure. I am a happy customer. I give Kam a 5 star.

My husband and I were recommended to Skylight a few years ago and we've always had pleasant experiences. We typically contact the manager directly to place our orders and he would meet with us personally at the Richmond store (Skylight has another branch in downtown Vancouver). They were very patient and helpful. I appreciated the extra customer service they provided me. I was able to have a quick eye exam, choose a frame and pick up my prescription glasses on the same day! A++++.
I would have given them 5 stars if it wasn't for the Pricey Contacts. I was able to find the same contacts for half the price elsewhere.

An unscrupulous salesman at this place charged a seriously disabled man $50 for an "eyeglass adjustment" that involved bending his metal frame slightly (a service which most opticians will do for free or for a nominal fee). When the owner of the store learned about it, he just laughed it off and said the employee responsible was "a good salesman."
Do not shop here - their business practices are totally unethical. If you suspect you've been ripped off, you have.

Purchasing a pair of glasses or sunglasses that you actually like on yourself is a daunting and difficult task. For some reason I've had a lot of success with both at Skylight Optical. The staff is more helpful than the other shops and they always ask for your budget so they know what to show you. Unlike other places which try to upsell. They have a system where they put the glasses you like all together so you don't have to keep going back to them on the shelf. It might seem like a small thing but I find this makes the shopping experience much easier.

It's been here for decades it seems, as I've purchased exactly 2 pairs since.
Just not very spacious store, quite narrow and tight as you'll be bumping into people as it's not more than 2 feet wide, despite a long store.
Prices are up there but can be negotiated. The usual designer names.
Lots of staff here to handle the Robson and tourist traffic.
Will be moving at end of month a block over beside Geox shoes.
