The hygienist was kind, but the dentist - Dr. Vasant Ramlaggan was terrible. His etiquette was not good, and I got the impression he enjoys the power to be in charge of all the young women around him too much. Twice he showed me a mirror and asked me how I feel about my teeth- in an attempt to make me inquire about whitening or some other unnecessary expense to upsell me. I have excellent teeth and will never be going there again. He also made comments about the moles on my face- totally unrelated to dental care. Very horrible bedside manner. I've read similar reviews about upselling on Google

I've had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Ramlaggan and Midtown Dental for 14 years now. I came to them initially, as a frightened and skeptical patient. From the very beginning, they took every measure to ensure my safety by communicating their every action so I knew what to expect ahead of time. Their hygienists and assistants were always… gentle and soothing. Dr. Ramlaggan is always knowledgeable and informative, spearheading every procedure confidently. A few months back, I was referred to another clinic for an emergency procedure. Right away, I had learned that not all dental

Good people, good service and excellent professional courtesy when it came to letting me know what was needed along the way. (Lots of really bizarre comments on how people are aggravated with the fact that these services cost money. This may come as a shocker but the bills need to be paid like any other business, unlike hospitals, family physicians etc. OHIP does not cover dentists.) THANK YOU for making me feel cared for. Getting my wisdom teeth pulled in two weeks - not happy about that, but at least I know I'll be in competent hands. Sincerely, Daniel Menard

Stay away! I guess he is an OK dentist, but the reviews are accurate - they will try to upsell whenever they can. After I complained, I did get a refund for a bacterial count analysis, but it should not have been done in the first place. Even worse, he will perform major restorative work that may not be necessary, which is what happened to me. His administrator has not been able to prove to my insurance company that there was sufficient damage to the tooth to require a crown. I have heard for two months that I should not worry and that it happens to a lot of other patients, and that the insurance

This place was horrible and such a ripped off. They just wanted to sell you products and keep asking u to revisit . They charged me 500 in total for a dental hygiene and had me came in for 2 separate appointment to just do the cleaning( each time they just do half of your mouth). Tho I have my insurance covered but still If you want to get ripped off and waste ur time then please go ahead.

Made my first visit. The dental hygienist pressured, shamed and guilted. I'm an adult and don't need to be made to feel like crap. This was all done with the hopes that I would book many more appointments, but I will not be returning. I was forced into getting xrays. The hygienist said she "must" take them in order to be able to provide a cleaning. It felt unethical. She claimed the receptionist was supposed to alert this to me when I booked my appointment, but that did not happen. I never got reimbursed for the xrays.

The hygienist claimed they would do all they could to make

This was the worst dental experience I've ever had. This dentist is not licensed to put implants in, and yet he said he would do it. However, before that I needed to buy this, and get this installed, and have braces (for the 2nd time!). When I went to him in absolute agony he said I should do yoga, shaved my molars down, and sent me out crying. The next dentist I found - who is a gem - asked me what barbarian had attacked my mouth so horribly, and not offered pain relief. Thank god, 3 years later...I'm finally at the end of the process of rectifying what that "dentist" did to

I agree with the other negative comments here. I felt like I was dealing with a car salesperson as well. They definitely try to upsell and get the most out of the patient by suggesting expensive treatments. Their dentist told me that I had to get 6 crowns and 4 fillings. At some point, she even made a comment about whether or not I was willing to improve my smile! I just couldn't trust what they said so I went to two other dentists and they both said I just needed two crowns and a few fillings. I lost over $400 but it could have been a few thousand dollars if I didn't realize what was

Everything is money, money, money driven! They are professional, but not when it comes to their fees- they overcharge or try to up sell you on everything. I have a friend who is a dental hygienist- she went in for an interview and they actually said, 'dentistry is a business first.'

As someone who has always been extremely scared of the dentist, I can say that my experience with Midtown Dental is wonderful. The staff is friendly, professional and dedicated to making my visits comfortable and painless by offering options such as numbing gel and laughing gas. Other than that the location is convenient, there's a short wait time, and Midtown Dental sends email reminders to confirm appointments, which is a great service. The visits are expensive and sometimes commercial but worth the experience.

In my life I have never liked going to the dentist but Midtown Dental over the last seven years has made each and every experience from wisdom teeth, fillings, and cleanings worthwhile, positive and painless. Whenever it is time to go, I do not feel anxious, instead I am happy to go knowing I will be treated kindly and much like a good next door neighbor I haven't seen in awhile.

From the moment you walk in you there is always someone friendly to greet you. The focus of Midtown's dental experience is what you tell them you need and want. They always keep that as the focus of your

I have been a patient of Dr. Vasant Ramlaggan for a good number of years now. The first time I ventured in was an emergency situation and I was treated quickly, very professionally and was almost made to feel as though I was part of a family.
The entire team is wonderful and I am always guaranteed a hug and some good laughs. They have seen me through many good and difficult periods over the years and have made the experience of going to the dentist which I always loathed, a comfortable and at times fun health chore.
Alexia and Cheryl at the front desk always welcome me with a big smile, and take

Another reviewer commented that she felt like she was at a used car lot, and I couldn't think of a more apt description. They tried to sell me a million different things on my first visit: electric toothbrush, special mouthwash, and even braces! I am 37 years old, and have been complimented many times (including by former dentists!) on having straight teeth. Everything seemed dishonest, sleazy, and money-money-money driven.

I had a consultation, and then a few days later an appointment for a filling. Each time the dentist was with me for the briefest of monets, and the hygeniest and

VERY convenient location!

The entire experience of filling out forms, chatting with the hygenist of your likes and dislikes of an experience at the dentist felt a little high maintenance but i guess its nice to take customer service seriously even at the dentists office.

So i told them price and wait times are the most important to me.
My next few visits :
(a) TIme: i had to wait over 10 mins each time which isn't the worst thing in the world as i am used to waiting over a half hour sometimes at my former dentist but it was a little annoying they asked specifics about my expectations and

I would not recommend this dentist to anyone. At a recent appointment, I felt like I was in a used car lot rather than a dental office. They were trying to sell me on a number of procedures but not caring about the procedures that needed to be completed.

I had previously requested quotes for dental work (extraction), I had to remind the receptionist 3 times. The third time I was in the office and she got the dentist. He told me I had to have a consultation with him (more $ for them). Really?! You would think they would have told me that when they requested the procedure be completed (a year

Very convenient location at the Bloor-Yonge hub. Dentist, hygienists and most of front staff very polite and personable. Seems a tad more expensive, but I guess given the location that is to be expected. Will continue to come here unless I find better located/cheaper dental office with comparable service.
