A running/walking clinic created to see you successfully complete a 5k distance in 12 weeks under the supervision of the most amazing running/walking leader team in Burnaby! This clinic is designed to help you shed those post pandemic blues and guide you into a happier, healthier new year with a level of fitness that will support you as you set out to confidently conquer your 2022 goals.
We carry women's sizes 5-13, men's sizes 7-14 and kids' sizes 1-7, with widths ranging from 2A to 4E-so there's rarely a foot that we can't fit. Specializing in the hard-to-fit foot, FitFirst Footwear is the top referred location for podiatrists, physiotherapists, and sports-medicine specialists in the Lower Mainland.
Running shoes should generally be comfortably snug, with particular attention to the heel and back half of the foot. It's fine-and often better-to have wiggle room in the front of the foot, with toes feeling as they can spread and wiggle without touching the end of the shoe. Aim for about a thumbs-width between the end of your longest toe and the end of the shoe while you're standing and fully weight bearing.

I’ve have been coming here for a few years. It’s a father and son owned shop. I like it here, Evan and Phil and the rest of the staff are friendly and highly educated in their field. They have a nice selection of shoes to chose from. If the shoe style or size that you are looking for isn’t in store, they can easily order the shoe in for you. It doesn’t take to long. They often have sales in store which is a nice bonus. I’ve recently started to bring my dad to the shop with me. I visited this shoe store at the recommendation of my podiatrist a few months ago, and I had an absolutely wonderful experience. I had been dealing with a running-related plantar plate tear for several months, and Evan helped fit me for a pair of Hoka shoes.
He answered every question I had, and was unendingly patient as I gingerly walked around the store on my injured foot in at least 10 different pairs of shoes. He was so knowledgeable about each pair, and made great recommendations for lacing, shoe modifications, and recovery strategies. I see why my podiatrist strongly recommends Fit First

My first visit to Fit First was excellent. It was recommended by my podiatrist to visit Fit First for a pair of shoes and sandals to help support my foot following an injury that has caused lasting pain. Evan greeted me at the entrance, welcomed me in and worked with me throughout the entire process. I tried on 5 or 6 pairs of shoes, and Evan explained what my needs were (based on the podiatrists recommendation) and how each shoe provided the support I need. He was friendly, informative and very professional. I left with a pair of shoes and sandals that fit extremely well and feel very supportive

After reading all the rave reviews about the service level I thought I would check this place out. I was promptly greeted, invited in by a young woman (didn't get her name) and while she was friendly enough it certainly wasnt the euphoric experience I have read others post about...Despite asking to have my feet measured it never happened, 2 pairs of shoes were brought out ,slid across the floor (none of the sale ones of course) and that was that...I couldn't help but notice the level of service the customer beside me was getting and there was a huge difference. I cannot say enough good things about Fit First Footwear - they'll literally saved me! I'm a size 10W supinator w/high arches (I need room for arch support) and not only were they the only place with my shoe & size in stock (Saucony Echelon 8's in grey: the holy grail of shoes) the store's owner delivered them in person 24 hrs after ordering a pair online! (I live nearby, but I was still gobsmacked by that level of service!) And yesterday, I was finally able to go hiking again up Burnaby Mtn! In addition to the staff being overwhelming friendly but not pushy they know their products! Recently had an issue with my current shoes causing problems with my toes and the sales person knew exactly what shoe and size was best for my foot and style of running. There is more to a shoe than colors, so if you want to be fitted properly, with shoes that fit your width, have the right drop, address pronation or have the right stability, this is the place to go! Highly recommended. Thanks again to Deirdre for all her help fitting me with my new Hokas.

I went into Fit First not knowing what to expect. I have hard to fit feet. I have a great deal of foot pain and very flat feet, as well as a great deal of swelling over the day. Evan asked me some questions to better understand my needs and really got to understand what I needed out of a shoe. It didn't take long before he knew exactly what I required. I have never worn a shoe that fit so well. I am so shocked by the quality of service and the comfort! I might never shop for shoes anywhere else again. A+++

My PT recommended Lady Sport to get some new shoes. I booked a virtual shoe fitting - so easy to book and I appreciated the dedicated time. I met with Evan and we had a fantastic chat. He listened and is very knowledgeable - comes with his 37 year experience! Even though the store was quite far away, I made the trip out to the Burnaby store and Evan was very prepared - the 2 shoes that I wanted to try on was ready. I had an amazing experience shopping here today. The staff really went above and beyond to address all of my issues I had with my previous running shoes. They are very reasonably priced (same price or cheaper than a big chain store). They also carry a variety of apparel. I bought running shoes, leggings, and two sports bras. All in sizes I would have never considered for myself. I was able to try running in a variety of different shoes. The team here know more than a thing or two about fitting you into proper shoes. Since I've taken up running more seriously, I solely (no pun intended ) shop here and trust the knowledgeable staff and their expertise to fit me in the right shoe for my gnarly feet.

The staff at Fit First show a genuine interest in your personal needs. They are patient, knowledgable and friendly. I have only had great shopping experiences here. I adore my running shoes purchased recently, and over the year have acquired some stylish and functional apparel.

This is a new (for me, anyway) store located in the Fortius Sports Centre. I only discovered it because I play volleyball there every week and was in need of new running shoes.
I went there and the sales staff were so helpful. One of the sales associates helped me find the perfect pair by analyzing my stance, my run, walk, and squat and saw the characteristics of my feet. I found a show that makes my feet feel like in running on soft surfaces. It was less pain in my feet and less impact for my knees and shins. Go here for good quality shoes.
