The Bruce Hotel & Restaurant

This was our fourth trip to the Bruce Hotel and each time it gets better. The hotel is exquisite in every detail, from the room, to the restaurant, which is a 5 star one, excellent breakfasts and out of this world dinners and wines, to the warm and friendly staff, to the house keeping, it does not get any better than this. And it is all in our backyard, beautiful Stratford, Ontario. We are returning for Valentines Day!

Had a wonderful special occasion meal this past summer at the Bruce Hotel. It was our first dining visit and we are still thinking about it months later! Just returned from a weekend at The Bruce; I CANNOT recommend this hotel enough. The service is second-to-none. Seriously. This is the fourth year in a row my girlfriends and I stayed here for our annual… weekend away. We agree on one thing … we have never stayed in a better hotel anywhere. From the front reception staff greeting you, to the treats in our room upon arrival, the stunning decor, the on-demand Cookie Hotline, the impeccable food, the accommodating restaurant staff who make you feel like a VIP, to the wonderful housekeeping staff. Booked a weekend stay for relatives and dinner at their restaurant on Saturday evening. We have always enjoyed a Disney experience.
This was true until our main courses were served.
From that point forward the service failed us.
Empty plates sat on the table a long time. I had to retrieve the bottle of wine and top up glasses. Coffee was served cool. Water refills were requested twice.
When I brought it to their attention twice, I was told "Your second cup of coffee is on me"
Hoping it is a one time thing where they were short staffed near the end of the night and not the new normal.

Just fantastic! We typically go to the Elora Mill but felt it was time to move on and try somewhere else. What a fabulous hotel, you won't be disappointed. Cocktails, food, service outstanding. The rooms are beautiful. Everything was on point. This is a case of you get what you pay for, very happy with our visit. There is an indoor pool and hot tub. Rooms are fully equipped. (Wifi, robes, slippers, hairdryer, safe, ironing board, mini fridege, toiletries etc..) They have fresh cookies that you can order at any time. More mature clientele (Myself included) Very quiet, library books to choose from

I celebrated my PhD earlier this evening in this delicious restaurant. Well we had a delightful evening and the venue was absolutely one of the reasons for that fruitful gathering. The stuff participated in a pleasant way, the cuisine was tasty and my guests were so joyful. We shall absolutely come back again for more events. Thank you very much.

Absolutely love this place! I’ve never experienced such impeccable service that has been consistent with every visit. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and super clean. The food is amazing and you can’t beat the coffee and cookie service.

We had a fabulous time here at The Bruce. The staff are just fantastic for making sure that your every need is met right from the get-go. A big thanks for Rishi at front desk for helping us with our reservations at the restaurant and others in town. We had wonderful service and food from Zach, Luke, Margaret and Anne in the dining room. Excellent food. Excellent service! Will happily return here one day. Also, the turndown service is great too! Love the fortune cookies and the little gift of chocolate when we arrived.

This is a beautiful property. We enjoyed two one-act plays and a fantastic dinner in between them! The food was immaculate....Chef and his team have a fine menu and wonderful touch with the food. The Servers were each well-schooled in their craft as well. We ate on the patio, enjoying the fresh evening outdoors.

Booked The Bruce very last minute to celebrate our anniversary. With the Covid lockdown we have missed travelling, so we decided to splurge somewhere close to home. I found The Bruce based on the reviews of… the dining room. We love a special meal, and we were not disappointed! I was just there recently with a colleague for lunch and was blown away by the level of service. Margaret, the restaurant supervisor, made a point to learn our names and use them throughout our meal. We were greeted with cold cloths on arrival as it was a particularly humid day. Throughout the meal, the servers were extremely attentive without being obtrusive. I had commented on how nice the blend of coffee was and right before departing, Margaret came out with a small package of coffee beans for me to take home! As this was a milestone birthday for me, my thoughtful and generous sons arranged for a week-end stay at the BRUCE. It was superb! Everything was perfection, from the elegant accommodations to the delicious meals. I particularly enjoyed my morning coffee on my private patio. Above all, I applaud the wait staff —-whether it be the Reception area, dining room or room service. Outstanding! Their ATTITUDE and PLEASANTNESS was exemplary! All aspects of the Bruce are amazing. The guest rooms, the restaurant, the spa!! All the extra touches too. Had a wonderful stay full of phenomenal food. Cannot rave enough about this place. A hidden paradise within Stratford. The best vacation I’ve had in a very long time!! Will be back

Yesterday was my first experience eating out after a long isolation.... Carefully my husband and I chose the Bruce restaurant, patio. We were not disappointed at all, on the contrary, everything was very well organized and beautiful! Good food, great service and a really nice atmosphere. You feel as if nothing out of ordinary was happening in the real world.
