The Pilates Studio of Dundarave (formerly Pilates West Vancouver) is located across from Dundarave Beach in the heart of the Village. Any studio can offer the feeling of intimacy, but within this boutique setting, a client will feel the synchronicity of harmony within the setting, the style and quality of instruction.

We strive for the Pilates experience to be safe and effective, taught in the traditional method. Classes are offered in all levels from beginner to advanced in mat and equipment; specializing in rehabilitation and elite sports. Pilates is one of these methods which help people gain a deeper understanding of their bodies.

The popular exercise and rehabilitation technique called Pilates (pih-LAH-teez) has everyone from baby boomers to sports lovers and back care specialists talking about its low-impact, high results and mind/body exercises.

Originally developed by Joseph H. Pilates in the 1920's to rehabilitate professional dancers in New York, this series of stretching and strengthening movements is designed to create a leaner, longer, stronger, and more flexible body.It's ideal for people dealing with back problems or those who require other types of gentle rehabilitative work.
Lisanne started in dance at an early age and continued into her mid-twenties with Anna Wyman. Having received a B.A. from U.Vic., started her career with the police department for ten years. A change in lifestyle promoted a thoughtful process to follow the passion for movement in the body. Lisanne continued at S.F.U in Kinesiology and decided to pursue Pilates.

Pilates Studio of Dundarave excels in personalized Pilates programs (machine, not mat) and small group classes. I started with one-on-one training for a couple of months before joining the group classes, and am enjoying not just the benefits of the work-out but also the warmth and camaraderie from the ladies in the group. Lisanne is a highly-trained, experienced instructor, and she keeps your fitness or re-hab goals in mind as you go through your lessons. Unassuming, unpretentious studio with a heart!
