Located in Roberts Creek, The Gumboot Cafe has been a favourite with locals and visitors alike for over 25 years. Plain and simple. This is how we create our food here within the walls of this historical building we are located in, not far from Roberts Creek beach. The Gumboot Cafe is a soup Mecca.
Locals and visitors alike gather to enjoy a variety of comforting cups and bowls which owner Joe De Leo creates daily. Many take home a litre or two, along with a fresh loaf of our famous multigrain bread. To accompany our soups, we have a variety of pizzas by the slice, our extremely popular hummus avocado beet cake, our classic kale salad, as well as smaller "snack size" options.

We were advised by someone in the know to visit Roberts Creek, whilst visiting the Sunshine Coast. Found this gem of a place that sells made on the premises and local produce.
We can absolutely recommend the ice cream and the chocolate. Both made on the premises. Also the very kind and knowledgeable lady who served us yesterday. She was the sunshine on a torrential rainy fay.
Awesome doesn't even go near. Try it for yourselves. We did. :-)

I've been going to the gumboot for 15 years, and I've always looked forward to it.
Until today.
The female server behind the counter at 11:30am was probably the rudest, most condescending server I've ever met.
Add to that, the display case was almost empty.
Terrible experience.
Sad to say, but I have no motivation to return, nor to continue recommending the Gumboot 😢.

Gumboat Cafe is better than the restaurant next door (even if it is the same owners). The hot beverages are made quickly, the limited menu ensures quality, and the staff and cooks are very friendly. They have brews and coffees available as week- add an array of sweets.
Nice place to sit before exploring the nearby shops (like the gem shop upstairs!).
