Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is run by Dr. Karen Danesik, who is a licensed, experienced Edmonton veterinarian. Our team is committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise.
When you are looking for a veterinary care clinic you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service. We, at Westside Animal Clinic in Edmonton, Alberta, have assembled an expert team of veterinary professionals to bring you the best possible healthcare for your pet. We have a state of the art veterinary facility which is clean, comfortable, and efficient.
1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill or accept cheques. 3. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well. Westside Animal Clinic understands this and is able to make arrangements through partnered services like Health Smart Financial and Petcard.
Dr. Danesik's interest is providing complete patient health care including diagnostics, surgery, preventive medicine, and emergency care. Her goal is to provide excellent equipment and facilities for patient care as well as employing a caring and compassionate staff to assist in this endeavor.
She will examine cats, dogs, birds, lizards, snakes, turtles, tortoises and other exotic pets such as rabbits, hamsters, mice, ferrets, degus, chinchillas, etc.

Diagnostic x-rays may be referred to outside specialists for review and consultation when indicated. We use gas anesthesia (isoflurane) for most procedures. This is similar to that used in human hospitals and is one of the safest inhalant anesthetics available. The patient's status is monitored with an anesthetic monitoring device that constantly measures oxygen level, heart rate, and respiratory rate.

Highly recommend this clinic, everyone is always smiling, cheerful and funny. Staff are extremely knowledgeable on both regular pets and exotics, a pleasure to deal with and always quick and painless with their exams. I have been bringing my Critters to West Side Animal Clinic for 12 years. Everyone is incredibly compassionate and kind. The Vet Dr. Karen Danesik has been treating my Dog Conrad since he was a puppy. Through swallowing a quilting needle as a puppy, to check ups to now his end of life care the level of care is evident in every visit.
Even when it was time to let go of my other dog, after a long battle, they were so kind and caring. I will be forever grateful for their care and concern.

I have been taking my dogs to see Dr Danesik at Westside animal clinic for just over a year now. All the staff is extremely helpful and caring to mine and my pets needs especially through these trying times of COVID-19. The doctor allows you to come in with your pet and schedules appointments far enough apart so they can thoroughly clean between patients so you don’t have to wait in the car while you worry about your baby getting The care he or she needs. The appointments go very smoothly.
I highly recommend westside Animal Clinic I’m confident anybody that takes their pets there will be more

Westside Animal Clinic & their staff are amazing. We have taken our dog, Theo there since he was a puppy, and will continue to always take him there. The staff are so incredibly welcoming, and friendly not only to me, but to my dog which we all know is most important. :) The vet, Karen has always been so incredibly amazing to Theo, and any issues we've had with him she's fixed with ease, and grace. You can tell that being a vet is not just a job to her, she truly loves animals from the bottom of her heart as do all the staff. She has always been so gentle, and kind to Theo, and always lets him

Went to the clinic in search of help for my dog, explained that I was unable to pay in full but could do payments and was told that they dont do that. Knowing that my dog was in trouble, I asked if they knew anywhere i could go to get her the help she needed. The receptionist was very helpful and empathetic, although the vet tech could use some lessons in compassion. She didn’t even make eye contact with me and continued to click away on the computer. I know its a business and they rely on payments to run. But to show such a lack of compassion is disgusting. Not everyone has a large surplus of

The vet is knowledgable and helpful. Our puppy's first visit went wonderfully, the girls at the desk were so friendly and made him feel comfortable and gave him plenty of treats. Today's visit, the front desk person was super grumpy, unlocked the door, said nothing to us and after a few minutes asked if we were there for his shots. I'm sorry but a good morning and how are you goes a long way. She never acknowledged our puppy and even when I was completing my transaction was still SO rude and acted instantly irritated when I asked for a copy of my dogs vaccines. Super disappointed

I have been going to Westside Animal Clinic for fourteen years. Next week I am taking my cat in for the last time. Unfortunately, the time has come for my cat to move along.
I can't recommend Westside enough. They have taken care of my girl so well. I was never worried about the care my cat would receive. They were gentle and friendly with my little pal. In fact, the cat wouldn't even complain when at the vet.
When I made the decision to put my cat to sleep, the doctor very patiently walked me through what the process would be like and offered her sympathies. She noted how long the cat had been

A year ago I was looking to adopt a kitten. I was told that they had some kittens that had come in that were abandoned in a shoe box, and they helped arrange with the people that found them to adopt my little cat. They have taken excellent care of him when he goes in for his vaccines, and they even did his neuter and microchipping so that he was as comfortable as possible. I will continue to bring him to this clinic as the staff are welcoming and they obviously love and care for the animals! (and it helps that my cat loves them too!)

All of the staff here are extremely caring and have always taken very good care of my animals. They always call to check up on my cats after they have had their annual vaccinations, or any type of medical procedure done. Jen is very friendly and I always enjoy hearing stories about her animals while I am paying my bill, or waiting to pick up my cats. I am guilty of calling to check up on one of my cats when she had dental work done, and Jen put my mind at ease by letting me know that everything had gone well and Luna was back to her normally loving self again. Absolutely amazing vets.
They neutered our pup Mack and loved and cared for him like he was there own puppy. They are priced right with no long wait times and are always there to offer great advice.
Recently I stopped in to get advice on our cat and puppy's ears. The vet and the vet tech were so helpful, prompt and Courteous they will be our only vet I will go to and recommend to friends !
