Our premium mountain bike rental fleet is made up of high end Giant & Liv Bikes, while we keep your head safe with our collection of Bell Bicycle Helmets.
We know how important riding your bike is, so we've made every effort to minimize shop-time. We book appointments to enable us to only keep your bike for a few days. Need a bike in the meantime? We also offer our rentals to repair customers at 40% off while your bike is in for repair. You are booking time with niceguy geoff to do a full assessment on your bike, and to provide a quote of the work that may be required.

I worked with Essential Cycles for an Intro to MTB clinic for beginners! The guides were amazing and we had so much. The staff was so accommodating and supportive that 32 riders. Everyone was so knowledgeable an was able to teach us all the importance skill. By the end of the day I felt more confident! Thank you!

Just had an amazing day being guided on a North Shore Tour by Andy as well as renting a bike. Can't recommend highly enough. Totally professional but also laid back and flexible. Bikes are immaculately maintained and very high quality. Guiding was first class. Hope I have the opportunity to be back in Vancouver to go again with Essential Cycles. Thank you Andy and Jaclyn.

Took my beloved ride to Essential today for a much needed tune up and it got all the TLC I'd hoped for and then some. Incredibly knowledgeable mechanics, and great customer service. Gave me a walk through all the issues, didn't over-sell, and in fact reassured me that it wasn't quite as bad as I'd feared! Bike feels better than ever before! Highly recommended :) An extra bonus - so great to see more chicks rockin it in the bike industry.
