Evolve was born in 2012 from a deep yearning for change. Jody and Sonia knew that if they wanted to be different, they had to do different, and it began with their team and culture. They decided to ditch the labels, leave the status behind and focus on what really matters, their craft and their culture.
Evolve Hair Studio strongly believes in a pricing system that reflects hair length and technical difficulty, rather than gender differences, for all offered services. A single root colour applied to natural regrowth that will cover grey hair or change your natural colour at the root only to match what you have.
We are a team of unique individuals with one common goal - create amazing hair and have fun doing it! At Evolve we believe we are stronger together. Our core-values are based around kindness, respect, mindfulness, balance, leadership and sustainability. Creativity to us is cultivated from curiosity, we believe it is something that comes to us from learning new techniques and pushing our limits.

This salon, the staff!! Always out do themselves every time. Coming during covid times was seamless and felt like a valued customer where health and safety is number 1 from beginning to end. Having 3b/3c hair I don't trust my hair with just anyone but this has been the Best place to get colour and cut for my texture of hair.

Ryan has been my colourist for almost two years, and for a good reason! Ryan is attentive to his clients and always makes sure to spend time to discuss what you're looking for plus make recommendations. From initial consult to execution, his use of colour is true artistry. I always leave the salon smiling and get complimented for weeks after.
10/10 would recommend Evolve. The environment is amazing, everyone is so talented/friendly, and the tunes are great!

Went here a while ago. They couldn't handle my hair. Never left a salon looking that bad, and it wasn't cheap, can't remember exactly how much but I think it was 70+ for a wash and cut. I left with my hair damp and in a bun, because it was a frizzy mess. They book back to back appointments and only left an hour in between me and the next client. Won't be back.

Desperate for a fringe trim, I called Evolve to see if they would be willing to accommodate me despite that I had never visited the salon before. They were able to fit me in that day, and I had a great experience. Sonya (the owner) cut my fringe, and she very welcoming despite that I was far from being a "big spender". In fact, all of the employees I encountered during my short visit to Evolve were great.
The vibe of the place is great, and I saw some great "work in progress" while waiting for my service. I will definitely consider going back for a cut, and have recommended

Was in Toronto for a wedding and needed a stylist asap as a maid of honor. I got lucky enough to stumble upon the salon and had Whitney styling my hair for a blow out and curls. My loose beach waves looked fantastic and was probably the best blow out I've had. (Been to many top notched salons in la and sf). Not only did my hair hold up the whole night it wasn't hard to touch. I felt beautiful the whole night which gave me the confidence to give my speech.
Not only was she good at what she did she was sweet and genuine and fun to converse with! Thank you Whitney!

5 star treatment with affordable costs. Meg is the absolute best. She has given me so much advice to improve my hair and recommendations for other things. I am 52 and have long hair, which makes me very cautious of who I let colour my hair. I always recommend her to everyone I know and finally decided to do a yelp review. All the staff seem great, but Meg is a sure thing. Also, a head massage to die for!

Not a good experience. First, the color is completely disappointing. I was very surprised by this because I used to see this colorist, Jody, at another salon years ago. We did a different style of highlight this time and it basically looks like a slightly sunkissed version of my natural hair color. The difference between the colors was definitely not what the picture I saw looked like. I hate to write a bad review of someone so nice, but this is my honest opinion. Went later tonight to come with my boyfriend to get his haircut by Sonia. We told her what we wanted and she did it better than we expected! For first time goers to Evolve, we'll be definitely coming back!
Complementary drinks, hot towel and wash after hair cuts and the cozy atmosphere make this place for what it is.
Prices are reasonable for the area too.

This place is located in the heart of Cityplace in one of the townhouses west of Bremnar - close to the Sobey's. It's a small local business which I really appreciate and like to support. It's small and quaint and the women who run the place are nice\pleasant. I called and they took me in last minute for a cut and blow-dry - which was great. The reason for the 3 stars is that I found it pricey and the blow-out was horrible. I have curly hair and I walked out feeling like a poodle - it was frizzy. Ridiculously overpriced if youre a dude who wants a regular cut (its one of these places that offers "spa like treatment" before and after every haircut). Its located in a small townhouse-esque shop (that I had trouble finding first time) and the salon itself is very small, def not meant for huge crowds.
The staff is entirely female and I believe one of them mentioned to me once they all live together on the floor upstairs. You can tell the room is a regular den+kitchen that they turned into a salon.
Only the person who greeted me smiled, rest of staff was grumpy and avoided eye contact

I am super impressed by this salon. I have to admit that I went only because I have a 4 week old baby and live in the same block.
I am unsure of how the pricing works - I had highlights, root touch up and some ombré colour weaves through a few of the ends. The colour was exactly what I was after and Jody really took time to make it look amazing.
They also gave me a super quick trim to tidy up the ends.
It came to $210 inc tax plus tip - reasonable considering how happy I am.
And all of this was achieved with a baby on my knee!

I have always believed that finding the perfect hairdresser is like trying to find your ideal partner, you got to try many out until you find the right one. Having lived in Toronto for 20 months, I consider myself quite lucky to have found a fantastic hairstylist so soon!
