Julie and Tauney are incredibly detail-oriented and skilled in their hair colouring and cutting, putting extra attention and care into the service. You really do get what you pay for here. While the price for a curly hair cut and colour is significantly cheaper than a standard curly hair friendly salon (About $90 compared to $350), I do not recommend going here.
TL;DR: The instructor is extremely rude, and does not know how to handle curly hair, despite my explicit request to be paired with one who does. She ruined my hair texture, I did not get the colour I originally requested, and the highlights start over an inch away from my roots.
Context: I called Avola to request full-head copper highlights and a cut on my curly hair. I explicitly

I got the courage to have my first perm ever at Avola College. Kaylie styled my hair, supervised by Touney, and they did an incredible job. I am pleased with the result.
They have a friendly team and excellent service.

Got a balayage here and am very happy with the result! I got a cut, colour and style — and while the first colour came out a bit lighter than planned, the team offered to darken it for me. All to say, extremely pleased with the final output!
Louisa, the instructor, and the other students were really thorough and although the experience did take quite a while (which is to be expected as this is a student salon), all the staff were very professional and friendly. Will be coming back in the future!

Avola College Is Still Talking Proud!
I am still attending Avola College to get their Fine Electrolysis Services done to my face by their students.
Their prices and good and so are their students and they do a Fantastic Job.
Today, being Wednesday, May 15, 2019, I got to finally meet Mark Avola, the Founder-Owner of Avola College and get a picture… with him.
I will be going back to Avola College this Friday to get the rest of the hair on my face removed and then the next week I will be getting a Chemical Peel.

This is my wife's experience SO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. VERY DISAPPOINTED.They are so unprofessional and rude in the way they talk to their clients, besides the lady on the counter doesn't know the appointments and have no clue about the schedule. I was told that they take no appointments on weekends first comes first served i went at 12pm the… lady on the couter told me they will go on break and will resume at 1:30 so i told I'll go and come back on time, when i went back theere was another lady who was unexpectedly rude and she was like it won't happen today!!!! When i told her we came

I found out about Avola College online while doing research on Beauty Schools that offer Electrolysis because this type of Service is very expensive in most major cities costing anywhere from $60.00 - $100.00 per hour depending on who does it and where.
In any case, I tried… out Avola College back in December of 2017 and back on Monday, January 15, 2015 and am quite Happy with their Electrolysis services.
Their price is fair at $30.00 dollars per hour and the students do most of the work along with their instructors

Reviewing as a customer: I have great respect for Avola for having a salon open so that their students can have real work experience. With that said, for those who come here for a haircut or any other salon treatments, that's the caveat...there are instructors who supervise, however once a bad cut happens, it's permanent (until the next haircut).… Also, they're going to go slow...so a quicky cut isn't going to happen here.
I've been here a number of times, and I've never had any issues. Then again, I'm not picky about what I want to do with my hair...but for the price, it's brilliant.
