Amazing experience I went here on my birthday to fix what a previous salon had done. I always felt uncomfortable at salons but I felt very comfortable here. They fixed my hair, absolutely amazing amazing job, this is my forever go to Salon, thank you for making me feel beautiful.
I went with a dark purple balyage, before I had this brassy weird two toned hair that used horrible cheap hair dye, I was mortified showing anyone else but they made me feel comfortable,I laughed, I had a wonderful time i went in with no knowledge, left with gorgeous hair and amazing products 💖

I had my hair toned and treated here on Friday, Nov 5, 2021. I must say, my hair was really dry and lacks moisture, the color was brassy and just overall, I felt hopeless. Coming in, the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. Amir's niece did my hair and was just SUPER fun to be around and talk to. I left there with my hair feeling so soft and so shiny and the toner used matched my hair well. THANK YOU THANK YOU! I finally found MY hair person here in Ottawa.

My first impression was not as good as I thought it would have been. When I showed what I wanted I was told, “not happening” I swallowed this response and allowed them to do what they felt was best for my hair. The colour is nice however, for what I got which was basically highlights trim and style. It was WAY overpriced! My piece of advice would be, treat your customers with respect, listen to their needs. And if you are unable to do what they ask, for whatever reason give an explanation as to why, don’t wait until after the hair is done. Danielle was amazing and very personable. Amir needs

Not only they have an amazing location in Downtown Ottawa but also, as soon as you step into Salon Rouge you instantly know you’ll have a great experience. The place is beautiful and stylish. The decor makes you feel like you’re in THE right place for your hair. As for the customer service, all the staff is very kind, you’ll feel special and taken care of.

I had my hair colored by Nina. She is amazing! She even recommended me the right products based on my hair problem. She's an absolute hair doctor. 🙂 Their products are excellent too! Highly recommended! Loving my hair!

Nina is amazing! I gave her free rein to do what she liked with my hair colour and I'm so happy with how it turned out. She also very patiently and diligently fixed an old haircut and gave me the hairstyle I actually wanted. Will definitely be coming back :)

She did pretty well about color, but I disappointed about hair cut.
She split my hair in half on the left and right and cut it twice up and down with thinning scissors for all of each side hair.
It made two high and low obvious clear straight horizontal cut line surrounding whole my head.
Those lines show up on the surface too, so it's very obvious when I straight my hair too :(
I have never experienced such a rough hair-thinning method for long hair woman.
The upper horizontal cut line is above the ears, so it will take at least two years for this too short hair to grow.  As I told her,

If you have curly hair you HAVE to go to Nina! One of the best curly hair cuts I have gotten in Ottawa and for a really great price! She listens to what you want and clears all and any doubts, not to forget she was super careful with my new piercing. Great conversations, great cut, definitely coming back here!!

Had a Botox hair treatment on Friday. Amir was GREAT, he listened to my Hair complaints and provided a solution that I am absolutely loving. My hair looks great! He did such an amazing job and he was very accommodating with my time! Haven’t had much luck with hairdressers in Ottawa but now they have a life time customer! I would not trust anyone else with my hair! It was a bit expensive, but the treatment I got is not cheap. You get what you paid for. And I got greatness!

Beware beware beware! Amir will rip you off big time! Came in for balayage service after a consultation just to have them tell me what was agreed to during consultation isn't doable!! Ended up paying 412 for a botched job. When I asked for a partial refund, they made it seem like they were doing me a service!!! Avoid at all costs!!!

Excellent: professional and does a great job. Good salon, clean and aesthetically nice. Slightly expensive but they do a great job.

This place was mediocre. The reviews make it sound far better than it was. Woman who cut my hair did an okay job. The whole experience was "meh". The best people there were the males, one who was the owner and took my jacket, offered me something to drink. The other was the young man who washed my hair. Maybe it was due to it being the end of the day or the fact that the appointment before mine the woman ran 30 minutes late, but I just felt like for about 65 bucks (55 for the cut 10 tip) I was a little bit underwhelmed by my hair cut experience.

I have lived in Toronto, NYC and Ottawa. This salon experience getting highlights was one of the worst I have ever had. They were very pushy trying to upsell me telling me how bad my hair looked... I ended up spending more on this service than I ever had and this did not even include a cut or a blowdry which I opted not to do. The actual highlights were good- which is why I am not giving this place 1 star. (But I have had better). But I couldn't handle how aggressive they were. This was not a relaxing or enjoyable experience. I walked out of there feeling like I had been taken advantage

Great customer service. I came in and asked for an ombre which unfortunately didn't turn out the way I expected. Even though the staff offered to complimentarily fix my hair I refused and wanted to go to another location to fix it.

Even though my hair did not turn out the way I wanted it to what really impressed me about Amir and the staff at Salon Rouge was their customer service. They answered promptly to my emails and there was no fights or difficulties when I simply requested for a refund. They were very apologetic and understanding and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.

Spend half of my time in the Ottawa area and half my time in the NYC area. I was up here recently and looked in the mirror and realized how bad my roots were. Not being one to just go to a random salon, I looked online a bunch and lended up here. I got highlights and low lights done here and was extremely happy. Not being a natural blonde, I need a mix of highlights and low lights that allows my roots to grow in "gracefully". She also toned my hair t(which 2 weeks later is still not brassy).

Overall Charlene is amazing and can't wait to return!

Good: The salon is really clean and spacious.

Better: Great customer service. The owner and employees are all friendly but professional. The cappuccino was a welcome sight after a long day!

Best: Working with the stylist (Danielle) was refreshing. She paid attention to my requests, but was straightforward regarding what would realistically work with my hair (and the admittedly little attention I give it every morning). She showed me how to style and blow dry it for a night out, and wasn't pushy with the products.

FYI, I don't colour my hair, but this seemed to be a popular service

I had to find a new stylist in Ottawa, decided to google best salon. I had my hopes down because i had some bad experiences in the past trying out new salons. This time though the owner was there to greet me, someone took care of me right away, sat me down ect.. I wanted a full head of highlights and was delighted by the outcome. Looks like i've found my new stylist in Ottawa! thanks for the great service keep it up

During a business trip, I noticed how shapeless my hair was so I walked in here on a whim. I have long curly hair. Dominique gave me bangs and some layers. She styled it to make it wavy. Looks pretty good now. :D Definitely recommend. Oh and her rate is 55 CAD...
