Horrible service, I needed makeup and updo for a wedding,
my appointment was arranged to have first an updo and than a makeup
once I got there, the ordered makeup was done first and it was done in the hallway, outside of the salon, after that Anica washed my hair to do the updo,
running water partly destroyed the makeup, the makeup was also very poor and totally not professional.
The updo I got fell apart right after I walked out from the salon, but because it took too long to do this, I did not have time to return with a complaint.
also they have asked for more money than was estimated and

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Value
I had a great experience at Modmop. I asked my stylist for a new cut/look on the spot and she delivered. I love the new, shorter look, but still feel in my comfort zone. She listened to what I wanted and gave my hair a fresh upgrade.

Really great experience with Ashley at Modmop! She was recommended to me by a friend and I couldn’t be happier! Was looking for a blonde look that wouldn’t be too high maintenance and she definitely delivered. She was very honest about the different services and explained which would be best for what I was looking for and why. She completely understood my vision right away and I’m super impressed with the results! I will definitely be returning! 🤗

I love the salon, warm and contemporary. Anica gave me an amazing hair cut, she took her time and approached it with method and fine tuned all the details. She also cut my mom's hair and for the first time in 10 years, my mom has been happy with the results of hair salon in Ottawa. Anica is very talented and she does her job with gusto. Thanks so much for a great experience!

I'd been meaning to try Mod Mop for awhile as the salon is under new management. I booked an appointment with the master stylist who is also the owner.
I found the owner to be knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. She was easy to talk to and appeared to be listening when I carefully explained what I wanted out of my cut and colour. I showed an older picture of myself taken the same day of a new cut, both a front view and a back view. The cut was classic - a slightly inverted shoulder length bob. I explained that I did not want the layers or ends to be razored because it thins

Go see Ceilidh!! She's been my hair stylist since 2016, and when she moved to Modmop, I was thrilled to find she joined such a great team. She’s always been the best for listening to and meeting my needs (see: hair styled in a way that can remain pretty despite my low/no maintenance) and the new salon is wonderful (such nice smelling natural products and happy environment). I wholeheartedly recommend both Ceilidh and Modmop!

Crystal is fantastic -- one of the few stylists in the city that can cut my stubborn hair properly. Have had to flat iron it for the past decade to get the desired texture, and she changed my life with some awesome product recommendations! Shaved a good ten minutes off my morning routine..! Awesome cut + extra sleep: keep up the great work! :-)

Modmop is in a nice quiet part of Dalhousie St., away from the bustle of the Byward Market but within walking distance. The salon is bright, spacious, and modern. It is also very clean and smells amazing! It does not smell like hair care products or burned hair, like some salons I have visited.
Upon arrival I was greeted warmly and offered a drink -- water, coffee, tea, or wine! I was asked to sit as my stylist was just finishing up with a client; I was then given a consult and the stylist asked what I wanted and we discussed the best options for the hairstyle that I wanted. An average salon that tried to hard but couldn't deliver.
The review of a salon boils down to whether or not you like your hair, and I wasn't impressed. I''ve gotten perfect results from other salons--albeit in SF, CLT, and YVR, but none yet in YOW--without all the Aveda flair.
The "Aveda Sensory Ritual" scalp massage was too short, unnecessary, and a cheap attempt at peddling product and faux luxury. Other salons manage go put a hot towel on my face without calling it a "treatment."
The water to cold, the towel too damp, the drier to hot, the comb too
