She has trained all over the world with notables, including Vidal Sassoon, Rusk Academy, Paul Mitchell, and tops it off with Master Colourist credentials from Schwarzkopf.
With the use of professional Matrix and Schwarzkopf colour lines, our Stylists have access to a wide range of colours and other professional products to help achieve the perfect shade and colour to suit our clienteles' needs. Taking dimension to the next level! Our Stylists keep up to date with the latest balayage techniques to give hair that incredible customized sun kissed effect with softer and lessnoticeable regrowth lines.

I have seen Krista today after a long struggle with finding a good hair stylist in Calgary. I was also slightly traumatized by a my latest haircut experience at a very fancy place.
She took about 20 minutes to discuss all the details and explain me all the particularities. I felt heard. She listened and after giving all my trust in her, she made a couple of magic moves and completely reshaped my haircut to what I wanted and needed. After putting the normal amount of effort into the blow dry (other stylists just casually blow it a little if it is short and don’t even bother using a round brush

I have been going to Lava Hair since my Hairdresser started working there. I have always found the staff to be professional and friendly despite our current restrictions. They always ready to listen when you want a change and usually come up with a plan to get your hair as close as possible and sometimes better than you imagined.

I’ve been going to Lava for 8 years now and seeing Krista the entire time. She’s absolutely amazing!!! When I first started seeing her, I had been coming out of a couple bad cuts from other salons. And while it took some time to grow out the previous bad cut, she was an expert at reshaping everything to have it grow back in perfectly. Since then I’ve seen her regularly for cuts and highlights and have always had a wonderful experience. She and the staff are delightful and Krista always gives me fantastic recommendations with my hair and has a great eye for color and her placement technique

I've been seeing Krista at Lava for more years than I can count. I moved to the Arctic and would always be sure to book when I was back in the city. She recently took me from my medium brown to a bright peony pink, she was very thorough and thoughtful. The other staff were very attentive as I was there for a long time. Also the salon staff very helpful, kind and they keep it so very clean. They are extremely thorough with their Covid protocols, which I appreciate. I have been a client of Mandy's for close to 6 years and I always leave Lava hair extremely happy! Mandy is a master with color and is amazing at achieving the blonde highlights I love! I highly recommend seeing Mandy as she listens to what your hair goals are and will never cut my hair more than the length I have requested. (This was an issue prior to seeing her).

We have known Margo for years and years, and my mom has been her regular client even before Margo opened Lava Hair. We trust Margo to hire only qualified hair stylists at Lava Hair.
Jessica has been my main stylist for years now, and I am always happy with her company and the work that she does. I got a recommendation to try out this salon. I went on 2 separate occasions. I saw Krista during both of these trips into the salon. Although she does do a great trim, my hair is above my shoulders. They charged 80$ for this, plus you tip on top of this. Expensive!
During the second visit, it was for a dye job from dark to blond. I didn't give any pictures , but told told the stylist what I wanted, and said I want it to look like a specific celebrity color tone. It took almost 4 hours of time. Granted going from dark to blond takes time. I ended up with Orange hair. I was so disappointed

Went in looking for WOW and came out looking like a house Frau! I knew it was bad just by looking at friends and families faces when they first saw it! Stylist didn't listen at ALL and now I am on the internet reading up on how to fade a bad color job fast. Most boring assembly line color and cut I have ever had.

I have been going to Lava for a few years now and I always see Krista for a cut and color. She is incredibly talented at what she does, especially color. She is also super friendly and fun to chat with. I always get compliments on my hair- trust me, she knows what she's doing!
The salon itself is really nice inside and they always offer you a drink and plenty of trashy magazines to read while you get your hair done.

So, I initially went into Lava Hair hoping to have something waxed - we all know how much I love that - but was disappointed to find out that they didn't offer waxing of any sort. So, I settled for a bang trim.
I was surprised at the youthfulness of the stylists at Lava. All the ladies seemed to be so hip and trendy, it was kind of intimidating, but very refreshing at the same time. I would say that each person in the place was very professional and I would trust them to give me a funky, up-to-date hair style since each of them had extremely nice hair! That's what I want from a stylist
