I moved out of the city during the pandemic. There are 3 things I miss and ERNESTO is one of them! I have been holding out until I can come back to the city to get a haircut from him because I walk away happy ever single time and he cuts your hair so it grows in gorgeously. In a pandemic this is key, as person who has fast growing hair in a pandemic, this is critical. I first started seeing Ernesto after a terrible cut from another Yorkville salon over 10 years ago. He fixed my hair (quite a feat following the hack job) and I have been going there ever since. I will drive the 2+ hrs to see him

No other stylist in this city has been able to nail my favourite 'old hollywood' hairstyle quite like Ernesto at Salon Solis. If you're looking for bouncy, voluminous, effortless, red-carpet-ready hair, Salon Solis is your spot. Both Dino and Ernesto are true master's of their craft, and there's no one else I'd let work with my hair. A beyond friendly environment, you feel like family the moment you walk in. I've been a customer of Salon Solis for 15 years now, and for more than 10 years Micah is styling my hair. I am so happy with his service! He is very professional and always provides great advice for my changing hair length. The salon is beautiful and clean, the staff is super friendly, and I love the complementary cappuccino. 100% recommended!

I just finished getting my hair done today and quickly decided to write a review. I came to get a bang done by Ernesto. He was extremely kind and made me feel so comfortable. I've never received such great service at a salon. At the end of the session when i reached for my wallet he refused and said it was complimentary! Didn't even charge me a penny! I'll definitely be returning for future hairstyles. As that act of kindness alone is rare at salons in the downtown core. Thankyou ernesto!

Bettina did such a great job with my hair! I got a full head of blonde highlights and a trim, and I am so happy with how it turned out. She took her time and was very attentive to all the little details. She continued to check in with me at every step to make sure I was happy with the results. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely return!

Salon Solis is by far the best salon in Toronto! I visited last week for the first time for highlights and a cut and Dino, the head stylist, did a phenomenal job. Dino took the time to explain what would best enhance my features and boy was I happy I listened, hands down best cut and colour I've ever had. Dino and his staff were professional, efficient and a pleasure to meet. Can't wait to go back!

I had just recently moved to Toronto and really wanted to change up my hair style. I have never dyed my hair, it's boring, brown, long and I just needed a little change up. I came in and had an appointment with both master stylists with an idea of what I wanted to do. Both Dino and Ernesto took the time to sit down and discuss with me my type of hair, how we would achieve the look together, and were both super professional and informative the whole time I was there. I went here on the strength of the rave reviews it has online, and because it's walking distance from work. Reception was fairly friendly but a bit distracted and sent me upstairs to see my (randomly selected) stylist. I've forgotten his name, but he was not one of the two Master stylists.

I'm a low maintenance, long haired type of girl who gets her hair cut maybe once a year, if that. But with that, having been here a couple of times, Ernesto has remembered me each time and always offers discounts to repeat customers. He is super kind and enjoyable to be around. He is also very detail oriented and artistic, really taking the time to help you figure out what works for your face. He even teaches you tips on how to care for and style your hair on your own after the cut. And the great head massage that comes with the wash and condition is a bonus.

I went for my first visit to Solis to get my hair coloured. Allan was the colorist and was professional and personable chatting with me throughout the process. The colour turned out great but was a little more platinum than I was looking for so I went back and Allan toned it again to give me the exact shade I wanted. He made the experience just as good as the first visit and reinforced his desire to make sure you as the client are truly happy. I highly recommend visiting Allan if you're considering a change in your colour. I know I'll definitely be going back to see him soon.

Let me start by saying that when I review a place, I review it based on value - what you pay for what you get. So if the place I'm reviewing provides a level of service that's in-line with what I pay, and they don't mess the service/product up, they get a good review. That being said, I wish Yelp offered 6 star reviews, because that's what I would give Salon Solis - they aren't as expensive as a very high-end salon, but you get high-end service.
