Honestly the experience at CatCare was terrible. Our first visit the assistant was rude and quite obviously did not want to even talk to us. We brushed it off and continued to go there anyways thinking maybe she was having an off day. However that was only the start of one of the worst vet experiences we have ever had.
First, they would charge us different prices every time we bought food (Even though we bought the same amount each time). Plus they would overcharge on their different 'tests' that they would do. (Another vet has charged us much more reasonably and it's always been the same price

I have been bringing my fur baby to Cat Care for 12 years now even after moving out of Richmond. I will not go anywhere else. Karen is so lovely and an extraordinary veterinarian. Megan is the bees knees! Superb team and I highly recommend Cat Care for your fur babies. Thank you ladies for all of your hard work and patience.

So I had to cancel my appointment for my kitten's surgery and I call them a day before but they do not pick up, they clearly state that leaving a voicemail with name and number is appreciated and they will call you back as soon as possible so that is exactly what I did. I get no phone call back but as I have work and school I do not think much of it as I am really busy myself. The day of the appointment I receive a voicemail from the veterinarian herself and am shocked honestly at how condescending and unprofessional she was. She was angry with me and accusing me of intentionally missing my appointment

One of my adopted boy Persian silver had urinary stone trapped in the urinary tract few years ago at the age of 10. He breeded and shivering a lot because of the pain.
We hurried to take him to the Animal clinic on Fraser Street where they didn't do anything but just nil by mouth, IV and pain killers to stop the pain but charged us for several thousands for just two nights. He was still in severe pain when we picked him up. Then we asked friends where else could we take him to see a vet.
Finally we were recommended to take him to the Cat Care Clinic for Emergency.
Dr Karen examined him immediately

I am so glad that I got to take my cat in and let Karen to take care of my baby as he was not doing good. He was acting really lethargic and was vomiting. I was so worry, but after a few days of being taken care by Karen now it's like nothing happened. and I love how they work with only cats as my cat gets really stress with dogs and it makes me fill that i can trust my cats health as they are really knowledgeable because they work with cats all the time. I will keep bringing my baby with them and really recommend everyone else to have Karen as their family vet.

I've only ever had good experiences with Dr. Karen! I really don't get why people complain about her costs because Ive been to so many different vets in the past year and I would say her rates are fair. Good veterinarian care is not cheap!!! Especially since this clinic specializes in cats. It's a huge bonus because there won't be any dogs barking or other animals smells on the premises which may stress out your cats, especially during overnight hospital stays.
Ever since I started going to catcare I've only been offered options and diets that really benefit my cat and

Dr Karen Zutrauen is the most knowledgeable I've met by far. I have been going to her for a few years now and she has taken care of my cat above expectations. She would come after clinic hours for emergencies and would do extensive research to find medical treatment options available. She gives her honest opinion and gives me plenty of time to answer my questions. I've gone through my fair share of veterinarians and Dr Zutrauen is by far the fairest price in relation to her ability/experience in the veterinary field. There will be cheaper clinics, but service here is worth the price.

When we first started we loved the clinic, the staff, and the service. The staff are still great, but the vet was constantly pushing expensive services and treatments. We purchased all our food there, which I now wonder if that was part of a profit motive.
But we moved away, found a new clinic, and now Catcare refuses to give us the records of 5+ years of care. Were referred to CVBC.ca by the SPCA, and they asked us to file a complaint, which we have.
Ask for copies after every exam and visit! you will want them later.

I do not recommend her as a vet because we had prepared our kitten to be spayed well in advance with a physical exam. I took time off work to take her to her spay appointment. One hour later her office phoned me at work to inform me of extra charges that I was not informed of when I made the appointment ie: extra charges for IV which is expected to be included in the spay cost surgery. An hour later I received another phone call at work from the office worker to be told to come pick up my kitten, the surgery was not performed because "the vet was offended" because I had asked where her qualifications

My experience with this female vet was awful. She wanted to charge exorbitant rates for everything and had absolutely no bed side manner for my senior kitty who was very sick and certainly no sign or caring for the owner of the kitty either.I am prevalent in the "cat community" of Richmond ...I have been a volunteer for cat shelters for years and not one person has had a positive experience with this vet.
