Tapestry's mission is to provide quality child/adult therapy both in person and via therapy video sessions at your location. Further, to expand the knowledge and experience of other professionals working with children and families by means of workshops and clinical consultation. Regulation of intense emotions and thoughts occurs in childhood and almost all mental health disorders started in childhood.

Parents will feel confident and competent in responding to their child's thoughts/feelings. Internal regulation of emotions and thoughts occurs in childhood as a result of repeated interactions between the child and one or more adults soothing and calming the child. Unfortunately, many adults did not have parents with skills to emotionally respond to their child's internal distress.
Services
I have a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Psychology) from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker and Supervisor with the Alberta College of Social Workers and a Certified Play Therapist and Supervisor.
Sometimes children are unable to speak or make sense of the problems or difficulties they experience in their life. As a result, they act out in ways that are both confusing and frustrating to their parents. Tapestry views parents as experts on their children and works in partnership with parents. Through a variety of therapeutic techniques Tapestry can assist the child/teen to develop new and more appropriate ways of responding to problems.
Most individuals have developed strategies to cope with the ups and downs of life. They are able to manage their thoughts, emotions and behaviors and be about the business of living. Unfortunately, at certain points in people's lives they struggle with thoughts, feelings or behaviors intruding on their ability to experience success and pleasure in life.
The following 3 workshops have been approved by both the Canadian Association of Play Therapy (CAPT Approved Provider 18-117 ) and the Association for Play Therapy (APT Approved Provider 18-562) Continuing Education Credits in Play Therapy. This is the first workshop in a three-part series of Experiential Play Therapy Workshops for the beginning Play Therapist as a Continuing Education Workshop.
As an approved Clinical Supervisor for the Alberta College of Social Work I offer clinical supervision to individuals wishing to become Clinical Social Workers. I assist applicants through the process of registration and developing a Supervision Plan for learning. The Clinical journey is one of personal and professional learning for each Social Worker Supervisee.
