Greta Solomon's, named after the owner Darlene's late mother & grandfather is an intimate 26 seat French restaurant located in the heart of Leslieville, Toronto. All of our dishes are made in house with the freshest ingredients procured from The Butcher Shoppe, Marc's Mushrooms, Hilite, Daily Seafood, 100km Foods, Essence, & The Good Cheese.
We are the only restaurant in Toronto that offers an exclusive 100 plus bottle French Wine list. We are making efforts to work with small vineyards that are certified biodynamic, organic & sustainable whenever possible. At Greta Solomon's, our guests feel that they have slipped away to a more leisurely pace, to enjoy our food, our drinks, our atmosphere and our company.

My fiance and I went here for our bi-weekly date night (Thursday).
It was lovely. The servers took our coats immediately (so civilized). Then on to our menu and beverage choices. The server patiently came back after a first check bc we hadn't even looked at the menu yet as we were talking. I wasn't drinking alcohol which did not even raise a brow from the server (appreciated that). My fiance had a Grey goose cocktail. We stated with oysters. Delightful. Then (and my favorite part) the wine choices were extremely varied AND they had Organic wines! Amazing
Thanks for such a great time Gretas well

This was our first time dining at Greta Solomon's and we sat at the bar. The restaurant itself is so charming and welcoming, we had such a lovely evening. The service was friendly and attentive - it could not have been better. The food was so good. We started with a cheese board and charcuterie platter, followed by a beef poivre and the fish special. The beef was so tender and perfectly cooked. We also saved room for dessert and shared a creme brulee and a homemade chocolate cake, which was the perfect end to our meal. We are so happy to be dining inside again, and what a great meal and dining

Every city needs a charming French restaurant complete with bistro sets that spill onto the sidewalks.
In Toronto's Leslieville neighbourhood, that's Greta Solomon's. This contemporary French restaurant has been a destination for lovers of French cuisine since 2016, as evidenced by the drool-worthy weekly menus created by proprietor Darlene Mitchell and her all-female team. In this stage of the pandemic, diners can delight in dishes such as heirloom tomato and goat cheese mousse, saumon de printemps and 12-ounce Ontario striploin on the heated patio. The whole menu is available

3 for dinner - and at $300 with 1 bottle of wine - very disappointing. Table bread was warm - but nothing special. Escargot appy was tasty. Seafood chowder - meh. Steak was partially cold when it reached the table, and the salmon did not have anything with it like a rice or potato?! Creme brûlée was probably the best part of the meal. The wine recommendation was not a good bottle at all. Would not return or suggest to any one else.

Very cute place for a date night. My boyfriend took me here with reservations at the back patio. Near the end of our apps it started to rain and water was getting on our apps. The server tried her best to keep us dry, wipe off the water on our table and hand us and others umbrellas. After the rain she served us complementary liver mousse. The steak and salmon was lovely and everything tasted great!

Always get good for and service here. Steak tartare is a must get! French pear martini one of their best cocktails.
Was seated in their back patio, super cute and cozy. The big tree provides much needed shade for a hot summer night. Lights and decor make for a comfortable and relaxing environment. Socially distanced done properly, only 5 tables. Each table given sanitizer.

Past the bright French doors storefront on Queen East Leslieville is a realm of contemporary French cooking over an intimate setting, manned by an all-female crew. Best to make a reservation; your reserved table is set with a tiny chalkboard sign with your name on it, adding to the overall thoughtful ambience that makes for an ideal date night type of place without being stuffy. The dishes were lovely, including the risotto I recall having. A small place, maybe in the uppity-price side, but overall Greta was a warm experience with a ferocious effort from the staff.

The food is good, but not great and expensive. More importantly, they are all about making money. If you don't cancel a reservation before a certain time (I think it's 3 or 4 hours before) they charge the credit card a deposit!!!! Then, they are obnoxious about the two seatings business - reminding you that you will have to move or leave by such-and-such time for the next seating. The service was provincial by young wait staff which would have been tolerable in a neighbourhood restaurant if it weren't for all this other mess! The final insult - if you book using their online system

We ordered bread (soft but nothing special), risotto with the Chardonnay pairing they recommended (rice too al dente for my taste but bursting with excellent flavours; I don't like Chardonnay but the one they offered has refined acidity and tasted really good with the risotto), crab croquette (depth of flavours dance with each other - delightful!), duck (small protein but very juicy and our fave is the green bean butter), and dark chocolate mousse (boyfriend liked it but it was just ok to me it tasted like regular milk chocolate mouse elevated by its homemadeness). Total bill after tax and

Back again. Not our first return since my first review. This place remains SPECTACULAR! From atmosphere, to food, to value. Just go!
Make a reservation because this super-romantic, cute place gets booked up. The food is always outstanding, and the owner, Darlene, is amazing. As are her staff. There are tasting menu nights, and set menu nights, so check ahead. Regardless, this place won't disappoint. Everything from start to finish is handled with excellence!

I've been here probably 3 or 4 times this year alone with my boyfriend. The food is consistently amazing and service is phenomenal! We get good value every time we go! I don't usually write review but for Greta Solomon's I had too. This place is one of the best restaurants in Toronto in my opinion! Please keep your magical charm :)

My friend and I loved the vibe of this place and the fact that at least the night we were there it was all women run.. And they did a great job! We had oysters, a crab risotto, steak tartar and chocolate mousse which was honestly the best mousse I have ever eaten! It's super cute and the washrooms are even equipped with packaged complimentary toothbrushes! We will be back to try some of the other dishes.

I came here with a girlfriend for dinner after hearing good things about this place. Located in Leslieville on queen street east, I was able to get here quite easily via TTC and was pleasantly surprised to discover the streetcar stop is situated directly opposite the restaurant.
With only 28 seats (including 8 at the bar), reservations are a must here so don't expect to just walk in and get a table. Being a warm summers day, both large windows were open which also double as the front door which confused me at first as I felt like I was walking into someone's living room.

What a gem!
I headed to Greta Solomon's on a weeknight to catch up with a friend over dinner.
Firstly, the atmosphere is to die for. What a beautiful little spot! (Note: really little, like 10-12 tables max). It seems like the owner took a ton of time selecting the decor and little details that give this place a ton of personality.
Secondly, menu. It's small but mighty. We tried a number of dishes, including the fresh bread, smoked salmon salad, sardine toast and the filet main. All dishes are small, so big appetites beware, but they're so delicately plated and balanced, they
