Services
They say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and this is especially true when it comes to your pet. Preventing illnesses is the best way to help your companion live a long, happy, healthy life, and that's exactly what we strive to do at Orillia Pet Hospital. We want all of your canine and feline companions to be healthy through every life stage.
No loving pet owner wants to see their pet ill, and neither do we. That's why we strongly recommend pet vaccinations for all of our patients here at Orillia Pet Hospital. We believe the best way to treat an illness is to prevent it from ever developing. Vaccinating your pet (which is usually done during wellness visits) is one of the easiest ways to do this.
A pet's oral health is just as important as their overall health, but did you know it's also one of the most neglected? Over time, this can lead to gum disease, which can eventually affect the heart, liver, and kidneys if left untreated. The good news is that this disease can be prevented with routine veterinary care and at-home dental care.
Making the decision to have your pet spayed or neutered can sometimes be difficult. You may not know the best time to have your female pet spayed or your male pet neutered. Perhaps you're not familiar with why you should have pet spay and neuter surgery on a new bundle of fur. At Orillia Pet Hospital, we're prepared to thoroughly discuss the benefits and drawbacks of spay and neuter surgery for the breed, size, and type of pet you have.
Has your pet been itching and scratching a lot lately? Have you noticed red spots, flaky skin, or excessive paw licking? If so, your pet might be allergic to something in your home. Pets can experience allergic reactions and skin problems, just like people can, leaving them with discomfort or even pain.

Very disappointing. On their website they said their mission is to meet the needs of local pet owners as well as vacationers in cottage country. They said they would work closely with your vet at home so your pet would receive the best care for their needs. I called to make an appt. because my cat was ill and we're in Orillia for the summer. They said their earliest appt. was in October. I told them my cat couldn't wait that long and they said they couldn't help me.

Our 9 yr old dog had collapsed, vomited, released his bowels and was extremely hot, all within a few minutes. We thought he was having a heart attack or dying. Turns out it was a severe allergic reaction to some kind of bite. We placed him him our car and we’re driving to the closest vet. When we called this animal hospital, we were put on hold, then told they would not take us because we are not a patient, sending us further down the road to Barrie. How can a vet who takes an oath to help animals, refuse treatment to one who is crisis?!

I brought my cat here many times and although the staff are very nice and personable, the prices charged at this vet are astronomical (more then double our new vet). I ended up taking my cat to a vet in Barrie (who is exceptional and fixed my cats issues in a timely manner at a very reasonable cost). I do not recommend Orillia pet hospital unless you have an extreme emergency.

We recently brought our senior pup here as she was experiencing some weakness in her hind end. Although Covid has certainly changed how business is done, the staff at Orillia Pet Hospital were very polite and listened to my concerns. They outlined a few options, without pushing me to take aggressive measures , We settled on an anti-inflammatory and pain killer regimen that should keep her comfortable and allow her to enjoy life at home and the boat.
