Laurie grew up in snowy Ottawa, Ontario originally and goes back to visit relatives occasionally. While Ottawa is a lovely city, the visits there make her appreciate Victoria's climate all the more! She completed her Bsc. And Msc. In Immunology at the University of Toronto, graduating with distinction.
