Willy Van Yperen was born in Holland and was a jewellery apprentice prior to immigrating to Canada in 1957. Upon his arrival, he worked for a prominent jewellery store before deciding to set up his own studio in 1967. With meager funds but a passion and talent for design, the business has evolved into bustling studio that it is today, still incorporating the handmade techniques that Willy used.
Rob Van Yperen, Willy's older son, started working in the shop at the age of eleven, learning the basics of the trade and adding his artistic traits developed by classes in pottery and drawing. By the time Rob graduated from the jewellery design program at Vancouver Community College, he had developed his own unique style which complimented that of his father's.

Services
From your initial sketch to the finished piece, Van Yperen Jewellers will guide you through the process of creating your jewellery. We work with silver, white gold and yellow gold. Because we alloy our own gold, we can control the hardness of the karat, and produce jewellery with strength and the lustre of a high carat.
How long have you been in business? Willy Van Yperen opened his unique jewellery design studio on West 10th Avenue in 1967, each item handmade in silver or gold. Drawing from his wealth of design ideas, the store has grown to a larger studio employing a number of goldsmiths and designers that continue his high standards.
