As many of you are aware the hospitality industry in Nova Scotia has a shortage of skilled workers, Servers, Cooks, Bakers, Dishwasher. Many other restaurants in and around Halifax have had to make changes to their hours to give their current staff a break. We are sad to announce that we will have to follow suit.
Effective immediately we will be temporarily closed Mondays to give our staff the much-needed break they deserve. We will still be here to serve you Tuesdays-Sundays, follow us on social media for updates to our hours and menus. We are now open for patio service, indoor dining, take out, bakery and take home food, plus an extensive retail selection.

Services
We have an extensive selection of hot and cold drinks, including latts, cappuccinos, and an extensive selection of gourmet teas. We also are pleased to offer a full selection of local and import draft, hand selected wines and alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. Our Pantry contains a wide variety of take home meals, produce & specialty groceries - The following is a list of items we regularly carry in our fridge/frezzer.

Horrible experience for a supposedly nice place to eat. Waitress didn't know how to make drinks on their menu and blatantly told us she didn't know how. Ordered eggs Benedict and both orders came out cold because waiter forgot about us (wasn't busy). Took another 30 minutes for them to remake our food, still came out cold. Was there over an hour and 30 minutes. When we stated we weren't happy nothing was done. Don't recommend spending your money for brunch here.

Always enjoy the food here but only experienced brunch. The desserts are amazing, huge kudos to the chef. My reason for 4 stars would've been because of the server we had last Sunday, there was no sense of time and we felt rushed. We were just seated and was never given a chance to peruse the menu and she already came to take our order. Some might say that's efficient but even another table had to say to her we just sat down. I know times are not as before and it gets overwhelming and I empathize but just wanted to share as service still needs to be a top priority.

I went there with my Canadian friend. She had recommended this restaurant , especially fish cakes. The waitress was misordered of my plate, not 2 fish cakes only 1 fish cake. A friend of mine was very sorry to take me the restaurant and she was quite sure that served beans were from cans. today I was told that the owner of the restaurant was recently changed. Bread and salted caramel coffee are quite good and worth to recommendation but staffs are awful not only professional but unkind. There are a lot of good tasty restaurant and bakery in Halifax. I don't feel to go this restaurant to meet unkind

I received the Comfort Food Gift Pack as a gift and I am really disappointed. For $75 I had to order 2 days in advance and nothing is cooked. When I asked why it wasn’t I was told that it was so that it’s fresh. Two of the three meals I received were not fresh and one was frozen solid. I had planned to have it for dinner that night but instead we ordered pizza. Also the staff were not friendly and seemed bothered when I called to ask if our order was ready. Will not be going back nor will I recommend this place to anyone.

A little bit out of the city as it’s off the Bedford highway but it’s worth the drive! Their brunch is delicious! Service is pretty good. They have a delicious selection of baked goods at the front of their store. I love that even their bread and biscuits that come with breakfast are made in house. Supper is also delicious, see pictures below!

8$ + for a small cheesecake slice.
Where else can you spend 17$ on a single slice of cake and a coffee.
All restaurant items that are offered are cheaply acquired or created, like bread and wheat based items. they do not offer any real meat or seafood friendly meals.

Been meaning to try this place for years after I’ve heard great reviews. Wanting to continue to support local during COVID-19, we went for lunch and sadly it was not what we had hoped for. The food was very overpriced for what it was. We didn’t enjoy what we ordered and weren’t given any options for a substitute or refund. We were so hungry that we… ate what we were given. Menu items that you would normally be served warm, we’re served cold, but not explained to us upon ordering. There was confusion on some of the small item options as well. On the upside, the Service

Not what I was expecting. Food was so delicious. I ordered the cajun chicken sandwich. It was the juiciest, most flavorful sandwich I've ever had. Kettle chips are fresh and add a nice touch to the meal. Staff here are also very friendly. Pleasant atmosphere. I will definitely go back again when I come back to NS.

Not impressed. Modest interior with constant visitors walking on a side. Not very welcoming staff. Didn't say hi, not offered the refill, didn't explain the burger night offer is over etc. Limited menu choices with lots of oil.

I have been here twice for brunch and have been pleased with the food. They seem to put a lot of thought and effort into it. On my first visit, I had fried chicken and waffles (which is actually just a single waffle, if I remember correctly, so a slight misnomer) and I enjoyed the chicken so much I ordered just double chicken, no waffle on my second visit. The chicken comes with a white, savory and creamy sausage gravy that is just delicious. They have nailed their fried chicken. The coating is wonderfully crunchy and seasoned perfectly to my taste. This place has definitely gone downhill. Been coming here for years, and have noticed a decline. Food not prepared with the expertise this place seems to bank their reputation on. Sub par service, servers seem like they don't want to be there. Brunch is really it's only redeeming quality.
One night for dinner they were out of 5 items, had no liquor apparently, and seemed extremely disorganized.
It's too bad because we used to really enjoy coming here. I'd compare it to a marriage that is headed for divorce.

Late lunch this avo with the every so picky parents. Well, best grilled cheese he's ever eaten, best tomato soup that's ever been slurped, best beef dip, best 3 way beet salad and the most delicious latte I've had in years.
The menu has had some tweaking so I'm excited to go back again and try more tasty edibles.

I went to EM for the first time today to celebrate my friend's birthday over brunch. The food was delicious, servers attentive, and the new pub has a great atmosphere.
I had the tomato pesto sandwich with prosciutto and my friend had the French toast. Both meals were very good. I topped mine off with chocolate chip and chocolate decadence cookies and she had the carrot cake muffin. There wasn't a crumb left on the plates!!
I'm looking forward to my next excuse to drop by EM :)
