Cha Baa, Thai for hibiscus, is a cheerful and delicate tropical flower. It is a symbol of the friendly light heart and genuine character of the Thai people. Our goal was to bring affordable, delicious, and authentic Thai dishes to the Maritimes. Since opening our Halifax location in 2007 we have received great community support and reviews leading to restaurants in Dartmouth & Bedford.

Come join us for lunch, dinner, or call us for take-out and delivery. Thai cuisine is internationally renowned for its hot and spicy flavours. The basic ingredients include garlic, chilies, lime juice, lemon-grass, fresh coriander leaf, fermented fish sauce, and shrimp paste. Not all the ingredients are listed for each menu item.

I was looking for a decent place to eat while touring Halifax. I ordered take away due to Covid-19. The food was delicious and the portion was a lot larger than I anticipated. I would definitely come back to Cha Baa Thai if I wasn’t leaving tomorrow. I visited the Halifax Queen location

Best Thai food I’ve had in Halifax. Amazing portion sizes, and truly tasty food. I’m yet to finish a serving, and the leftovers are always great later. Tons of options with a variety of different types of thai food, can’t go wrong with this restaurant

The food is great tasting. Make sure you are really hungry . The platters are quite large. We had the cashew chicken , chicken pad thai and sweet and sour pork. WE brought home as much as we could eat and have enough left for tomorrow night's dinner. # dishes are easily enough for 3-4 people.The service was very good. Did not see free parking in the back but you can use the POINT North parking lot on the left side as long as you register your vehicle in the restaurant free of charge

I had the red curry lunch special with fresh rolls. The curry was full of gravy and lacked flavor. The fresh rolls were full of spouts and I think there was fried onions in it. It also has a weird dipping sauce. The worst part was the mouldy garnish. It wasn't that great.

Believe this to be a brand new restaurant. Large, open space. We were the only ones there on a Tuesday so service was excellent and food came within ten minutes of ordering. Food was very good, in particular the curry. Large rice is too large for two people.

I placed an order for delivery today at 11:40 am. Food arrived piping hot by 12:05 pm. The calamari was delicious as were the spring rolls and the pad thai. If I were to order the calamari again, I would ask for the sauce on the side, so that the rings were still crispy. The delivery guy was extremely friendly as well. Very pleased. I will definitely be ordering for delivery again in the future.

This has been our go to spot lately. The lunch specials are nice and well priced. Delicious red, massaman, and panang curries, good wonton soup and hot and sour soup. Spring rolls are always fresh and well cooked. The servers are friendly and quick. My favourite Thai food in Halifax!

Nice restaurant. Good atmosphere and very clean. Food is great and well priced. Ate here three times and was amazing all three times. Friendly staff. Fresh food. Sauces are amazing. If you like Thai food you must check out this place. Free parking in the back.

Still give here a 3.5 I think and have been back maybe four times since they opened in 2018, always for weekday lunches. Each dish I try something different and always am satisfied with the flavor, portion size, wait times, etc. The pad thai is probably my favorite of any Thai food, so I've had it here and it holds its own. Also really like the cashew chicken, which I request spicy and it's always just right. Nothing blows me away, but it's consistently good and I will continue coming here.

This is a nice place and the menu has many options. We went as a group of four, so we had about five different dishes and shared everything, which is a great way to try many things! Of our selections, I most enjoyed the duck curry and the garlic squid. I've never thought of putting grapes in a curry but it was nice!
