We consider ourselves a true family eye care centre in the heart of London, Ontario. We are lucky enough to have helped whole generations-working with children, parents, and grandparents, all of the same family. It's important at Old South Optometry that we welcome talented eye care professionals into our own family.
Dr. Eric Chevalier grew up in Montreal and graduated from the University of Montreal, School of Optometry in 2014. He received a certificate of excellence in ophthalmic optics. Prior to receiving his optometry degree, Dr. Chevalier completed a doctorate in molecular biology and a bachelor's degree in biochemistry.
We know that having a simple way to pay for your appointment makes your eye care experience that much friendlier. Annual routine eye exams are fully covered by OHIP for children and youth under 20 years old, and adults 65 years old and above. Regular eye exams are essential for ensuring your child's development, both in school and in their daily lives.
Eye exams go way beyond simply updating your glasses or contact lens prescription. Getting a new pair of lenses to sharpen up your vision is always a great feeling, but there are other benefits too. Regularly scheduled exams provide doctors with information about changes in your vision and are vital in identifying eye conditions.
Children rely on their vision to engage with the world around them, from seeing your face for the first time, through exploring in toddlerhood and thriving in school in the years after. Regular eye exams help support your child's healthy development both in the classroom and outside of it by identifying any vision issues, like nearsightedness, "lazy eye, " or the effects of a sports injury, and addressing them appropriately.

I recently went in for an eye exam which resulted in a new prescription. I chose OSO based on my home location and I am just in awe by the excellent customer service!
Every staff member I had an interaction with during my 2 visits were super friendly and professional. The eye exam was very thorough and they answered my questions and helped me… find exactly what I needed.
In addition, the procedures that they have set in place for COVID-19 safety is beyond reproach. You certainly have nothing to worry about if you had any concern about going there during this time.

I am so happy with all our experiences here. My husband, son and I all recently began coming here. I have only had other eye exam and it was no where near as thorough as what I experienced here. It was a huge shock to us to find that our son is extremely far sighted but they walked us through everything & the transition was seamless thanks to their… help. I just picked up my new glasses and had a great experience! I had originally chosen a different frame, and when I found them to be uncomfortable after prolonged wear, I was able to painlessly choose a different… frame under the 30 day satisfaction guarantee. Being from out of town, their on site edging is greatly appreciated! Even though I was early for my appointment they were still able to finish my glasses quickly.
My only suggestion would be accessible doors for wheelchairs, scooters, strollers, etc.
