Origin Langford location is kind of lame. It would be nice to have a place to go and not have to worry about sneaky gluten but they rarely have the items I'm after (mostly bunwiches and baguettwiches) and most of the other items are not that tasty (the other 'bread' sandwiches are kinda gross!) and WAY overpriced. I visit other gluten free bakery's on the island and in Vancouver when I travel and am always so impressed with the tasty treats I find and then shocked when I'm not charged an arm and a leg like I am when I shop at Origin.

It is so lovely to be in a place where we can eat EVERYTHING on the menu!! We enjoyed a breakfast bacon quiche, a brioche with Parmesan and spinach (great flavour), a breakfast panini and a berry muffin.
The bread used for the panini had amazing flavour and texture so we grabbed a loaf to take home.
We are sorry not to live here but will definitely put it on our ‘must visit’ list for when we return!
We were also DELIGHTED to be asked to show our vaccine passports so we could sit and eat. Keep up the great work!

Great selection of gluten free food and baking. Expensive. Paid $70 for a birthday cake for 8 people. Gluten free bread very moist. Sells out of bread so go early. Can order in advance, online, prepay and do a quick pick up. Langford store is not the main bakery, which is in Victoria. Small pies enough for 2 available.
I have to update my review after visiting a few weeks later. Origin Bakery has been my bakery for years, but I now believe they have out priced themselves. The prices are getting too high for my senior's budget. How many are willing to pay $12 for a loaf of Harvest bread. Not me

Was just there and got a cranberry muffin it was awful took one bite and threw it out. Not to mention the staff was very unapproachable. Second time I’ve been there and not have been impressed, I’ll just stick to my own gluten free, dairy free cooking. And hey baker a little tip for you let your batter sit in the fridge for a couple of before you bake with it. It takes rice flour way longer to absorb moisture, my muffins are like Betty Crocker made them herself and I let my batter sit for at least 2 hours. But you probably have a huge ego like most chefs and won’t even bother with this. I

Have been going to this bakery regularly since it's opening. Great baked goods! Their muffins are amazing. Love the variety.
Customer service is hit and miss. There have been a few times where I am in the store and there is only one other customer and I am standing waiting 10 minutes before I am even acknowledged. Even if you are just trying to pick up a cookie give yourself 15 minutes because things are often slow, especially when coffees are being made.

Classic Good News/Bad News: "Here's a large selection of cupcakes. They are gluten-free." I look forward to trying many of the other options this bakery provides, but I can't imagine why anyone, even a celiac, would try the cupcakes more than once. There are great gluten-free desserts out there, to be enjoyed by all. Clearly baking technology hasn't come up with a suitable cupcake solution yet.

A fantastic addition to Langford. A local Victoria-based bakery, opening their second location in Goldstream Village. Small shop tucked away on corner of VMP and Goldstream. Baked goods are quality, made with local organic ingredients, and very good. Not just gluten free but vegan/ oat/ dairy/ nut/ soy/ yeast/ corn-free options too. They list all ingredients beside baked items so you know exactly what's in it. This bakery has mastered flavour. Not inexpensive but goods are specialty made and top quality. The vegan chocolate chip cookie-bar is moist, crumbly and delicious. I hear the vegan

I love small local businesses and one that supports my dietary restrictions all the better! Visited yesterday for a light lunch before a hike with my family and the food was great!
That being said I was defiantly put off by the customer service we received, the two women working were fine when we first grabbed our food, not overly friendly but served us promptly. When we decided to grab a sweet treat and a hot drink after our sandwiches (which we ate on the lovely bench in the store!) the two women were no where to be seen. we waited and chatted but finally after many minuets had passed the baker

Love this gluten free bakery. The Vega bread is amazing. The holiday chocolate peppermint cupcakes are not too sweet and the flavour combination works well. I am a "don't be putting fruit and flavours in my chocolate!" kind of person, but I enjoyed the cupcake. It's a small bakery with helpful staff who don't appear to mind when you stand staring at the cases trying to chose one item over another.
