Services
MSP does not compensate us for the time and financial loss we incur due to missed appointments and we will bill you for your missed appointment. We will gladly book another appointment for you once you have paid your missed appointment in full. We realize that it is impossible to keep all appointments but we do ask that you notify us as soon as possible before your scheduled visit so that we can try to fit another patient into your slot.

After hours access to a physician on call is obtained by calling the office number and following the recorded directions. As this service is not covered by MSP, the on-call physician may bill you a charge for the phone consultation. You can also contact Healthlink BC at 811 to consult with a nurse or a pharmacist after hours.

From the first time I walked into Dr Van Eeden’s surgery and consulting rooms, I knew I was in good hands.
He is careful to consider all possibilities, but always efficiently and with focus - and one never feels one is being rushed out.
In fact, he often gives one far more time than the standard time allotted.
I have only the best things to say about this fine family doctor, and have recommended him widely, especially to my wonderful son and his family.
Those who have become patients have also appreciated his medical attention.
I feel lucky to have found him and had him as my physician.

Our family loves Dr. van Eeden! He is a great physician, very knowledgable and so very kind and caring. He has been our physician through healthwise really tough times and we always felt that we were in very good hands. And no matter how bad the circumstances are, he always cheers you up and makes you laugh. We can highly recommend him!

They never answer the phone. You can call ten-twenty times, they still won't answer. Do you expect us to believe your so run off your feet you can't pick up the phone? Behaving like self aggrandizing gatekeepers between you and getting actual medical help. How does Dr E allow this? They've even pushed existing appointments ahead with family members who were very ill, making them wait even longer to sync conveniently... for them, not the patient. Something is really not right here. You're position is office receptionist, not the secretary to the Prime Minister.

My husband and I are so grateful to have been able to get in while we could with Dr. Van Eeden when he was accepting new patients. He is an in depth doctor who actually listens to his patients! He is kind, knowledgable and compassionate. Thank you! We wish we could refer all of our friends and family to him. Once he's accepting new patients we will definitely do so.

As far as my opinion of Dr. Van Eeden is concerned, he's incredible. He's also unbelievably busy, but that is a side effect of our entire medical system. He's always willing to answer questions, educate and is willing to put in work to get it right for his patients.
You may read about the secretary's never answering the phone, as it always seems to be an answering service, and that is my experience as well, but that does not detract from the doctors level of care.

I have been seeing Dr Vaneeden for over 10 years. He is a great doctor who has always done the best possible for me. He explains things clearly and never seems rushed. He truly cares and it's easy to tell he loves his job. He's helped me with numerous medical concerns over the years and I really appreciate his expertise and empathy. His staff are very friendly and always on point.

I've been seeing Dr. van Eeden since about 2007. I think he's a very good doctor with a few areas of improvement. He is very knowledgeable, but only focuses on Western medicine, and sometimes I would like a more holistic approach (like trying acupuncture for pain or checking whether my diet or sleep is affecting my health). When I'm there he doesn't rush me, and is willing to address more than one ailment if it's not major. I think he's personable and he listens to what I say, and answers all my questions until I'm satisfied. Sometimes I have a tough time

I think, after seven years of observation, that Dr. van E wants to have as many patients as he possible can and he charges for every little thing he's allowed to.
Really one of the worst offices I can imagine. He has made so many mistakes with my partner's care than I'm disgusted with him. He is always days (or weeks!) behind responding to blood test results, dislikes referring patients to specialists and is unbelievably slow at making the appointments with specialists, (we have to call to ask or we would never, it seems, get the appointments).
If he's competent with some people

It may be kind of pointless to review Dr. van Eeden right now, since his practice is currently no longer accepting new patients. But, for future reference, let me say: The man's a fantastic GP. Knowledgeable, attentive, open-minded (he's been listed as the top LGBT-friendly physician in Vancouver on several occasions), genuinely concerned about his patients and, not least, also genuinely interested in his patients' concerns.
