At Maple Ridge Eye Care, our team of optometrists are committed to providing advanced vision care in a professional and comfortable environment. As an optometrist serving Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, our primary eye care service includes a complete eye exam that analyzes eye health and vision function.

Originally from Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Dr. Hurlbert returned to BC after graduating from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry, in 1995. In 1997 he joined Maple Ridge Eye Care - Optometrists and assumed ownership of the practice shortly thereafter. Dr. Hurlbert attended the Omni Eye Center in Atlanta in 1994 where he worked alongside cataract, glaucoma and retinal surgeons in the treatment of advanced eye disease.
Hurlbert and his staff are just wonderful. Rita, Vivian and Vicky were all exceptional during our last visit and my two young daughters (first formal eye exams) and I all felt very comfortable and relaxed in the open and inviting office. The exam itself included top of the line technology coupled with detailed descriptions of each step of the exam.
We are proud to serve our community. As a longstanding optometrist group in Maple Ridge with over 60 years serving your eye care needs, we understand the importance of giving back to those who have supported us. Here are some of the initiatives we supported in the last year. Our optometry group has supported the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation with donations to their fundraising gala as far back as 2005.

Being new to the Maple Ridge area I decided to start going to Maple Ridge Eye Care, after reviewing optometrists in the area, I chose Maple Ridge Eye Care because of the positive reviews and experience level of the doctors.
I was not disappointed, the team was professional, helpful and exceeded my expectations.
Dr Hurlbert is an amazing gentleman who took the time to explain several eye diseases that I should be aware of.
I will definitely be returning for future check-up’s as well as referring my family.

I am been going to Maple Ridge Eye care since I was a kid for 12 years now and up untill 3 years ago I would have given then a 5+ star rating. But now it seem they are out to make every penny possible ie cost of general contents are $20ish higher and they still most times have to order mine in vs online retailers 2 day shipping and cheaper, I needed new glasses a year a go I even was willing to pay the higher cost as it was time sensitive but know one wanted to help out as a 20 year that appeared to have no money so I took my business somewhere else which had its own problems in getting my correct

I decided on Maple Ridge Eye Care because of all the positive reviews. When I called to book my 11-month-old in for an eye exam, the receptionist was friendly. Upon arrival today, the greeting I received was tepid, but at least they had me sanitize my hands, and they took my temperature and my daughter's. We were brought to a room in a relatively timely fashion, but they left me and my toddler there for 20 minutes waiting. We read books, I gave her snacks, we looked in the mirror, but there's only so much you can do to keep a toddler busy in a little room for 20 minutes. I asked if it was going

What a terrific customer service experience! Due to covid-19, I am currently located away from my regular optometric clinic in Victoria. Having just received 2 new pairs of prescription glasses, I was in need of fitting adjustments. Using eyerecommend I found these very kind and accommodating folks. The front desk staff made me a next day appointment and I was treated with the same care and attention I would have received at home. My sincere thanks to optician Paul who was very patient and ensured I left the office happy and completely comfortable in my glasses. I will highly recommend these folks

I have been using Maple Ridge Eyecare for about 3 years now for my entire family. I was referred to them by a friend when I was having an issue finding a good optometrist.
I live in North Delta but thought I would give it a shot due to the glowing reference that was given.
From day one I the service and attention to detail has been amazing. We have felt that our best interest is always first and foremost and trust them completely.
They showed so much care and patience teaching my 10 year old son to insert and remove his contacts and they are always quick to send refills when needed.

I don't do this often, but this one is WELL deserved! I managed to get a metal shaving in my eye and my GP recommended that I go to Maple Ridge Eye Care. I was already a patient, but I had to take my chances without an appointment as I was experiencing severe discomfort. The staff were very helpful and quickly managed to provide relief in the form of anesthetic eye drops before getting me in to get the piece of metal removed. Dr Hubert was not only personable and friendly, but also extremely competent at removing the tiny piece of metal as well as the rust that formed around it AND he did so without

Checked Google reviews to find the best optometrist office in Maple Ridge for a long overdue eye exam. There is a reason why Maple Ridge Eye Care has SO MANY five star ratings. What a fantastic, well run and friendly company. I was treated professionally and kindly from the moment I walked through their doors. Dr. Rughani is lovely. At my last annual eye exam I was experiencing dry eye in my left eye so the staff booked me in to see Dr. Matter who is very knowledgeable about this condition. With his expertise and the right drops my dry eye is gone. At that time I also bought new frames and lenses and the staff knew exactly what I needed and were very helpful. I love my new glasses and get compliments all the time!

I've been going to Maple Ridge Eye Clinic for about 3 years now. I'm always greeted in a very friendly and professional way! Paul has gone above and beyond to make my glasses just perfect for me. Helen and Tobi has also given me excellent customer service. I would highly recommend this clinic to everyone! Great place to go to get informed decisions about which eye wear you need. Staff takes care and listens to your requirements before prescribing eye wear. Make sure that you take your children in for an exam before the age of two, as early eye exams can prevent later learning issues. Doctors take the time required to give you an informed decision. Give yourself and your children the best choice.
