This place is the worst sushi restaurant in Toronto. Food is bland and to be honest nothing really special about it, just too expensive for a rice. It’s not also good for people with gluten allergy, for example we bought California roll and they remove the fake crab and did not replace anything. So it’s just avocado and cucumber and that’s it. You guys could just let us know that you guys are not replacing anything gluten free but just removing stuff so it end up just eating plain sushi in regular price. You guys are ripping off people. NOT WORTH AT ALL!!!

The best sushi in town!! I am never disappointed when I order at Edo. Great service, excellent quality, and always fresh. My favourites: the spicy salmon pizza and the green dragon maki :)

Amazing!! The atmosphere and the way the restaurant is decorated is beautiful and cozy, and our server, Michael, was phenomenal. I went with my parents and we all thought it was such a great experience.
The sushi was fresh with a great presentation aw well as the deserts. Highly recommend the avocado chocolate mousse 👌

I have been frequenting this Edo-Ko location for almost 20 years. The food and atmosphere is incredible and the staff are very friendly. Some of the best sushi in the city. Excellent lunch and dinner menu.

I had an excellent experience at EDO-ko! The sushi was fresh, authentic, and high quality. The staff is well trained and even though we went at a busy time they took really good care of us. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a great sushi dine-in experience. Keep it up!

The restaurant is located in Forest Hill Village with sufficient paid street and nearby lot parking.
At present, the restaurant has a street side patio.
The food quality was disappointing; nowhere near the quality of the now closed Edo restaurant on Eglinton. Unfortunately, I had a mild food poisoning probably from the dressing of the salad.
I will certainly not be back and do NOT recommend this restaurant!

I visited their patio recently and had an unreal experience. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the food was incredible, and the service was impeccable. Arrive with an empty stomach to maximize the amount of this incredible sushi you’ll be able to eat. 12/10 great experience would recommend

WHAT TO TRY??
The sushi pizzas!
They offer by far the most options when it comes to sushi pizza! Over five options to choose as toppings on their menu from spicy salmon to spicy tuna to other toppings like spicy scallop and butterfish and Alaskan crab!
They have curbside pickup available and online ordering to make things easier and safer for people to enjoy their food.
The only thing I would prefer is if the rice layer (base layer) is not as thick. You can ask them to make the rice layer less thick if you prefer a thinner layer too! That way, you'll enjoy a balance of toppings and pizza!

Food is just ok. Great for if you're in a pinch, but if you could travel a bit further you can definitely find something that tastes better.

Went for Winterlicious and the food was ok. Ordered the Calamari Kale Salad, Seafood and Chicken Yose-Nabe Hot Pot, and Japanese Fruit Tart. There was a starter which was similar to a seaweed salad in a shot glass which was interesting but definitely not something that can be taken in one shot as it didn't slid out that easily. The Calamari Kale Salad was well presented but the Calamari was not sliced so it was a bit difficult to eat (having it sliced or providing a knife would have been good). The Yose-Nabe Hot Pot was tasty and good to have on a cold evening but ... had Chicken? I don't remember

DO NOT GO HERE. The old one that burned down on Eglinton was SO good (I used to go there every year for my birthday) but this is just a really bad version of that. Honestly some of the worst service I've ever had - consistently bad. The staff are kind of mean - especially this one woman who seems like she's upset that you're there which always makes me feel uncomfortable. And it's so so so slow. Guaranteed to be a snails pace. In terms of the food everything used to be better. The spicy salmon roll is still fine but that too used to be so much better. Also every time I try to

Amazing food and an even better staff! The sushi is delicious, but they also are routinely updating their menu a wide variety of Japanese cuisine. The chefs cook with passion, and the management makes you feel like family. Highly recommend!

Had a terrible time here and won't go back. Our complaint about misrepresentation on the menu (the "seafood" salad had almost no seafood and was mainly lettuce) fell on pretty deaf ears. The food was pretty though.

Long wait, poor service, very overpriced:

Made a pickup order. Restaurant had maybe 15 diners in it max and it took more than 35 minutes for them to assemble the tiny order. No apologies from the disinterested staff. Total cost for 2 sushi rolls + miso soup = $44. Live around the corner and won't be going back.

This restaurant does not understand the concept of customer service. I ordered pick up and the food took twice as long as they said to be ready. When it was finally ready it was soggy and cold. Their solution was to double deep fry and burn it.
I was a regular but will not be going back.

Great sushi, terrible service!

I've been to EDO-Ko many times because of the convenient location, and every time is a similar experience.

The service is very slow and the waiters and waitresses are neither particularly friendly nor very apologetic. After finally ordering and finally receiving most of our food, the sweet potato maki had still not arrived. It took about 10 minutes just to get the waitresses attention and her expression told me that she had totally forgotten about it and she was pretty vague in her response. 10 minutes later, we asked another waiter about where it was, and

Wednesday, November 4, 2015 Dinner for 3

The menu has a decent selection of raw sushi and cooked options.

We had:
1/2 Asian eggplant with dengaku miso glaze - very tasty
35 Sweet Potato Tempura Fries tossed with green seaweed, sea salt - excellent
Atlantic Salmon grilled to perfection. Moist and tender.
3 large Giant Tiger Shrimp grilled
Char-broiled miso-marinated Black Cod - Fish is so fresh and nicely presented!
125 ml warm saki
5 Ounces Luigi Righetti Pinot Grigio

The food is absolutely delicious here. Although we did not have any sushi tonight, I could hear other diners commenting on

Based on service alone, this place would only have received one star. The servers didn't really acknowledge us and only came by once to re-fill our tea. It took us an hour to get all of our food to our table. The only reason this review warrants 3 stars is that the food was pretty good. The sashimi was huge! The maki rolls were also well done - not too much rice and just the right size.

Had an overpriced mixed experience here for lunch. My daughter's California roll was excellent. Our gyoza -- filled primarily with veal -- was pretty good and out of the ordinary. However: their ginger salad dressing is heavy on the miso; beef takaki was too chewy (clearly not quality meat); eggplant w/ gonzu sauce was over-miso'ed and was too salty. Our server was inattentive, particularly since there was hardly anyone there.

In my humble opinion there are two types of sushi joints. Ones that push the envelope on Japanese cuisine and those that leave the diner feeling comfortable. You know what I am talking about. That neighbourhood sushi bar around the corner that hits the spot after a long day at work. It doesn't ask too much of you and you just ask that the fish is fresh and doesn't kill you.

Edo-ko is my neighbour sushi place. I have been eating at Edo-ko since it opened in 1997 (I think it was 1997....I have killed a lot of brain cells between then and now) and has been consistently solid in both freshness
