Absolutely terrible. Dry old lamb, sour cucumbers, no seasoning, hilarious "Italian" salad with iceberg lettuce, they cooked the Saganaki on only one side so it was rubbery on the inside, the olive oil they brought out was almost as clear as water. There is one star here only because it can't go lower. Avoid at all costs, go to Maria's a block down, it is way better and the owner isn't even Greek! If I was Greek I would be ashamed to cook food like what I was served today at those prices. It's no surprise we were the only people in the restaurant at dinner time on Sunday night.

My family has been enjoying Simpatico restaurant since we first discovered it 12+ years ago. Tonight we hosted our staff Christmas party there for 18 people. The food was as excellent as always - we've never been disappointed. The service was on point. The price was fair. And the ambience manages to capture a perfect balance between upscale yet relaxed. Kudos to Marino and his team. One of our perennial favourites!

First of all, the price of their chicken souvlaki dinner shows up as both $18 and $19 on different parts of their website, but then we were actually charged $20 when we paid ($42 for two, meaning $20 x2 + 5% PST tax)! Didn't realize until we got home. Then there's the food--we'd tried them a couple of years ago, but decided to give them another go. That was a mistake: overcharged for a very disappointing take away meal. I am really sorry to say, but I can't find anything to recommend them for. (Maria's Taverna, a block away, is so much better, even with their own lack of

Simpatico's is a wonderful local family owned restaurant. Been around for decades. The staff are friendly and I love the atmosphere. I have not explored a lot of the Greek dishes....but I do love their pizza! They will even make a thinner crust if that is what you prefer.... just request it
Thanks for the great food and customer service

Was looking forward to Greek Dinner. Sadly our party left disappointed. We each ordered souvlaki. The meat portions were small, tough and flavourless. The potatoes were dry. Vegetables in the salad were mushy and the rice was overcooked.
The staff was friendly though sometimes absent.
I do not recommend this place.

Fantastic value and service. The food is consistent and seems to get better in quality over the years, opposite to the typical trend. A large menu with fresh ingredients, good cocktails, interesting daily specials... and a very spacious, pleasant place to eat in or outside. A terrific neighborhood Greek restaurant.

Service was exceptional! We had a friendly waitress the whole time and at the end the owner came around to greet us. We were there for a special occasion and the owner took care of us nicely.
The food was good!
I recommend this as a place to try in person with restrictions being lifted. Some of the staff didn't have mask but there was a lot of airflow in the building and I wasn't concerned. Personally I still wear masks everywhere but I understand if some staff feel comfortable not to wear masks. Our waitress DID wear a mask.

It wasn't terrible, but wasn't great. My daughter said she found 'hair' in two different items, but it appeared more like inch and a half long fibres. Whatever.
What annoyed me: my son ordered two soda waters. We were charged $3 for both. No free refill. Fine. Even though soda on the gun costs next to nothing (outside of the gas to run the system.) Kicker was that the second one ordered came in a little baby glass that held less than half of the first.
When we saw the bill, this was pointed out to the waiter and he replied, "I can get the manager."
Ugh. That

Always a great food here. There's a reason they're lasted decades, because they serve up real classic Greek food. Generations of family's have been dining and celebrating here since the 70's. They've outlasted others for a reason. Nice ambiance too. Please support our local restaurants & business' so we can weather this storm as a community & neighborhood. Because once they're gone, they're not coming back. Peace & love in this New Year!

Old school Greek restaurant pizza seems to be a dying genre these days (RIP Candia's, Alexis, etc). I've tried a bunch of others, and none of them tasted like the pizza that seemed to be ubiquitous in the lower mainland in the 80s and 90s - thick and chewy but not doughy crust, plentiful sauce, and loaded toppings.
Simpatico was exactly the pizza I remembered and was craving. We got the Pink Sunshine, which had meats, mushrooms, peppers, and onions. So good.
The large was 23 bucks, and was big enough that two of us were stuffed and we still took home a couple of pieces.

Having been here a few times in the past year or so, I am still enjoying their food & service!
This is one of a few remaining long-time Greek Restaurants in the neighbourhood, with Romeo's, Candidas etc. all closed their doors, Classic Greek is slowing becoming more rare in the eclectic food scene of Vancouver.
For my personal taste, I still relish the homey old fashioned way of Greek cooking over the modernized version that is popping up here and there.

I was interested to come here and see so many 4-5 star reviews. We usually go to Maria's up the street, but came to Simpatico for the first time - we were really disappointed in the food. We each had the chicken souvlaki, but found the meat really dry - it tasted like it had been cooked from frozen. The food just lacked flavour. I wanted to like it, but it was just not good.
The sizes were also confusing to me. I had the large serving while my partner had the small which came with a pita. Somehow, he ended up with more food than me? We had a good laugh about that in the moment.

This is a Greek restaurant located in Kits, on 4th Avenue. It was quite empty when I visited during lunch time: there were only 1-2 other tables that were occupied. In addition to a regular menu consisting of popular Greek dishes, they also have a small lunch menu. I had their Small Canneloni Genovese and Souvlaki (Chicken Thigh). The food wasn't fantastic but still very good, and the prices were fair. Service-wise, the food did take a little long to come out, but the server I had was quite friendly and attentive. All in all, I definitely think that this is a restaurant worth checking out

I have been coming here for years the service is great and atmosphere seems authentic they also have huge windows in the front which they open in the summer
On this occasion I ordered tarama and dolmathes to start followed by the chicken souvlaki
Tarama: this is great and one of the main reasons I come here the tarama is simply perfect good amount of tang from the lemon and while not being too fishy has a good amount of umami from the fish roe
Dolmathes: this is one of my favorite appetizers in any greek restaurant and while there version is good it's by no means the best I personally

I surprised myself when I realized that I had not yet written a review for "Simpatico". Simpatico is in my hood and with my love of Greek food, I will often be found chowing here. Really, Sim's is my friendly neighborhood Greek restaurant. It's super cute with blue and white plaid table cloths, fresh flower centerpieces, and cute quotes on the place mats. It's also a more affordable restaurant.
There are a couple of tables (VIP tables I call 'em) that are situated in large windowed sliding doors that open up to the sidewalks of 4th ave. Fresh air and solid people

Simpatico location on west 4th almost 50 years. I haven't return over 2 decades. We decided to revisit them on our free weekend and expected they still good as before.
We ordered calamari as a appetizer, however, the calamari wasn't crispy and pretty chewy.
Chicken souvlaki just ok but the potatoes really good.
My hubby got lamb was good but not great.
We're a bit disappointed after we revisited, overall, the service was great but the food just OK.

The food was meh (the tzatziki was pretty bad--way too thick), and the service tolerable. Not a restaurant I will try again, especially when there are so many other options.
Another thing to note: there are no accessible washrooms because it's an old building. The washrooms are at the back of the restaurant, and in order to get to the back, you must go up two sets of stairs, each set consisting of only one or two small steps. I asked the server how a person in a wheelchair could access the washroom, and she said they could enter through the back via the parking lot, if necessary.
